Yes that is not a good thing...why pick a hero.
WHy not just have it as a Native Hero style tourney, but without having to choose ONE hero for the entire tourney.
Seems it would be more fair that way..

OK listen, The hero you choose are you hero profile has to be the hero you begin with in the game. I am going to let you guys choose heroes out of the tavern to pick which one you would like for the main hero, All other heroes MUST be dismissed day 7 no exceptions. I played a Native game lastnight and I see your alls point. So i will be changing rules again so you can choose your main from tavern, BUT you have to use the hero you pick as your profile to start the game.

oki..but
if u gonna changes/modify rules, i think the only fair way is to go ALL RANDOM on hero and just have ta pick ur registered town type. And then to pick a hero by day 7 from what u r dealt with in tavern.
pickin hero at start of game gonna cause conflicts even b4 game starts.
pickin heros is for noobs

I will leave those rules up to the host, if you wanna do that go for it. i have changed the rules 5 times already LOL With all the updates I have to do just to add one person to Native it is a time consumming tournament to update. Every player has there own individual profile page with all the games you played who you played and what map.

I chose my hero coz I thought was just for avatar..I like Cuthbert's...looks evil hehe
But if u expect me to start a Hero game vs Kyree given to start for my opp...well not gonna happen....lool
I strongly suggest that the following be incorporated into the rules...this last change Kitty can't be challenged and is the most fair..
Random heroes to start..but wk 1 u can hire any available Native heroes...Day 7 u must dismiss all except which Native u want as main.
Simple and cannot be misunderstood by any foos..
Takes alot less time to change rules once more..than to start deleting players...
Just my humble opinion

Edited: Ah well, what the heck, I'll just register and c what happens. Just dun think I will play Flux and Isra a lot.
The initiative is good; I would have done it slightly different and leave out the real strong heroes (Isra, Vido, att/def/log-guys, Ivor and Shak) and flux, but I think it will be fun.
So starting next month I'll play

Me thinks ppl like splexx has a good point here, the default setting for these games should be random hero maybe even random town but thats up for you to decide i guess. Then if two players agree on picking that should be up to then but these things always need a default setting if players doesnt agree.
As for further suggestions id say remove cflux completely. Its a toss and if you are free to use native heroes first week then pippi birds are not that tough and have a weekly growth of +4 birds later is just a toss. As other players has stated i seriously doubt that any player would play anyone who has a cflux town now. I know i wouldnt.
Me thinks this tournament is a good idea and have a good potential... what i also think is that when it comes to tournaments like this the admins should not be afraid to set up a discussion with players that have great experience from these games. This experience is often really valuable. If that discussion had taken place earlier maybe this "i quit" discussion wouldnt have been neccesary. Im not trying to say that "you did that and that wrong" here now...i really dont. But i think it could be good advice for future tournaments
Well these are just some suggestions on my behalf, do as you wish with em.
oh and btw... worst H3 spell: firewall

i agree its native hero there for i think it should either go like this
random all use heroes only from that town.
Pick town random hero use only heros from that town.
or if you like me splexx and hexa pick town random hero hero you get is main no others
just opintion.
also i will change if it makes people happy to Castle/tyris instead of Isra

As if this will solve the problem. My opponent starts with log spec. and we are limited to only one hero. How am I supposed to catch up with those speedy bastards? hrrrr
If you are going to change a rule or anything, please do it before its too late.
If we were told our "avatar" was going to be our starting heroes I bet you would not get this much players. All going for power heroes such as gunnar, kyrre, thant, tazzy etc.
I will join Splexx and Ironmlh. You can give Edric to whoever wishes to take him.

Why would veteran players want a tourney where we pick our hero to have for an entire tourney?
Basically with this scenario...those who register first get all the best heroes...
Wondering who recommended this setup?
Why in the world would i play against someone that had speedy or specialty heroes guaranteed?
Oh well enough tossing, hope it all works out for those that play.

The problem is...
The rules gotta be the same for everyone...
They should state that we MUST start random heores, then can choose a main from whatever Natives are offered by Day 7..
I REALLY wanna play this tourny..but as it is now there is WAY too much confusion, too many different ways the games can be played, and will result in pointless arguments, unfinished games and eventually the tourny will be a bust.
The ONLY choice players should have about the game is whether it is fixed or random map..(and of course no cart, grail, etc..)
I'm not trying to be an @sshole or whiner, quite the contrary...I want Natives to be a success and I'm offering my advice, since I have played tons of Native and Hero games and I know which rules work best for these formats, and have seen TOO MANY good tournys turn to sh!t.

after chattin on zone..
the best would be just a Natives tourny..no b!thcing..whinin about heroes chosen..
Plain and simple rulez..u can use ANY Naties to ur town...
Just like Natives in Mah..but now u have a much bigger player base to draw from..
with lots of intrested players..simple is best

A note to everyone: if I was Mandi (or Motor) I would only take tips seriously if people would take the effort to mail me personaly.
I like this board as a way to discuss about these things, but if u really want to contribute something, make some effort.
