A new fashion : forefit and win

Today I've seen a new way to win your clan wars...FOREFIT AND WIN...I've seen this from a clan war between myrmidons and white haired bandits. I remember i saw kracx many times on gamespy waiting for general and not even one time general waiting for kracx...and myrmydons won by a double forefit when it was clear that general would have been an easy prey for kracx.

That means it is a new fashion on clan war games...just make sure u have 1 more victory with your opponent and then don't bother if the other clan had a powerfull player still in game...just show up one time on gs when your opponent it's not there and u will have a forefit and your clan will win.

THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE...THE PLAYERS MUST BE MADE TO FINISH THIER GAMES OR LOOSE THIER GAMES. I don't want to loose clan prestige or even clan war because my opponent don't want to finish their game. So i propose if a player don't have time finish a clan war game the opponent will win that game. If u don't have time just retreat from the clan wars.

I had a thread like this, but no one seemed to care about it, we lost a land because of it (which costed us very dearly, as we are boxed in now ... )

The only thing we need right now is general to make a thread like jinxer's and we're all set

I didn't see Kracx in GS until 3 days before the deadline.  But that's not what this is about, is it?  Ves says Kracx should have talked to him or Insatiable about General if he cared about the clan war.  He didn't.

And considering how many wars have been decided by forfeit I doubt you where shocked and amazed.  Just look at the history.  7 clan wars have been decided by forfeit.   I even told you this might happen on Friday.  Remember?

"General hasn't been playing heroes lately and if he doesn't show our game could decide who wins the clan war."

Does that ring any bells?  I guess that in knowing this I should not have played you.  It would have been fairer.  That way the war never would have been finished.  Stupid me for playing my match.

I have no problem with facing Kracx in a round 3 situation and that could have happened if Kracx talked to Insatiable and Ves about it.  He never did.

So why is it our fault that Kracx didn't talk to Insatiable or Ves?

really think if you care so much; than you should be leading the/a clan because situations like this would be avoided.

My 2 cents.

Edited to make it easier to read.

Well Jiels I do recall you making that comment but right after that I seen Kracx in GS so thought we were covered. But it sounds like it is Kracx fault for not telling Vesuvius. Although I recieved a mail from Kracx that was Carbon Copied to Vesuvius about this.  SO Only thing I can think is Ves over looked it, nor it was lost. SO I will either start my own clan or just not be in clans at all.

I was trying to suggest that I didn't think General would show up but I didn't know for sure.  I should have just come out and said that in hindsight.

It's kinda amusing how it's not the 2 clan leaders arguing about this.

Kracx did email Ves?  Oh.  Now I understand why you're so worked up about this.  That would be frustrating.  You got the same email from Ves I did, right?

Check your email.

aka kracx

So this is why I thought everything was covered.  And I am sure Kracx thought this was enuff.  But guess no matter.  Ves said he not gonna take the time to change everything.  I just wanted to prove that Kracx did make a PEEP to Ves =)

maybe its only me who sees this perspective

i dont think ppl are all decieving each other at least not most of the players who forefit.  And most of the time if a member forefits it only messes up their teams' chance of winning the war or getting one in the future.

and anyone wants a screenshot of vesuvius' email sometime to see how many he has to sort through?  when emails get carbon copied or forwarded from chats and discussions between players its almost a daily ritual to sort thru them.  If a issue is important then it should be mailed to him directly.

Im not going to get into who was right or wrong in this but its a really good idea if the clan leaders take on a little more responsibility.  Vesuvius says tcfear sets a good example, his emails are always very sharp and on top of his members and his setup info is as detailed as they get.  Which made me look at his clan war histories and out of 5 wars or so only 1 matchup ever forefited!

No disrespect intended!!

Melissa, there was no disrespect intended from my end toward Rob.  I of all people understand what it takes to run this site.  I also know from talking to him what all other projects he has going at same time.   When I posted the E-mail that Kracx copied to Ves, it was not to show Vesuvius inadequacy...but more so to show Insatiable and others who claimed that Kracx made NO attept to convey his situation to Vesuvius, that he did infact send something, even though it probably wasnt the best method.

I have requested from Kracx that he allow me to hold the title of Leader, so that the more diplomatic side of Clans can be handled better. Kracx is our best and strongest member, butjust dont think he has the time for the little technicalities of many e-mailings to hold spot of Leader.

But I do have one more comment.  I think in the long run I would rather see a war run past deadline 1 week and get finished then to award wins to a clan via a forfieted match.  Just my 2 cents.

The option to cast a "forfeit ARMA", eliminating both players instead of the one that would lose, is a strategical option as it is.

To stop the less honourable clans from taking advantage of this is easy.. fight fire with fire. Just let your best players play first, and they use the forfeit to YOUR advantage.

Simple steps:
1. Let your top players play.
2. Forfeit the rest of the games.
3. Take the win.

That sux, but seems to be the way clans work. If you canīt change the rules, use them to your advantage.

Clans insnīt just about ingame fights it seems, but also about IRL forfeit battles.

Iīm just glad Im not in clans
sounds like u got a prob

speaking of clans, i sent ves the version 1.2 of coastland jewels (theres a clanwar on it right now).  apparently the orange portal in the top doesnt work if you enter the western portal first (because there were some random resources on the other side blocking any place to land).  Also green had some disadvantages, so that was fixed.  Hopefully ves can get it up soon so the remaining clan war games can be played on the fixed version

We all know what to do now for the future

Well hopefully now we have all read in other places that Ves expects clan leaders to take initiative and handle much of the war business between them.  Then send him the results.  If there be forfeits then they can send him the results of those as well as they work out those matters.  As long as this happens there should hopefully be no need for another similar thread in the future.

It will be 5 prestige.  Doesnt matter if its a forefit or pass.  3 games means half game.  The difference is if it was to move to a round 2, the person with pass would have a chance to play; it also means the person who got pass will get the bonus rankings points (when he wouldnt get any if it was a forefit).

A forefiting team means that they lost 25% of their chance to win a clan war; it does not benefit anyone.  As melissa said somewhere in a post, you guys need to get out of the idea that everyone is decieving everyone, it seems to get into your heads the more you are on the computer in extended periods of time.  We have fondly termed this mental phenomenon as 'foaming'.   Deth8, you know who has been foaming recently

End of discussion, the rules stay as is.  When youve run this sort of thing for 4 years and seen all the variables, believe me this rule cannot be adjusted, or there will be a lot more chaos than you think.
