A request to Ves for a clan deadline extensions
As I sit here and write this pathetic plea for a clan deadline grace period, my girlfriend is wondering if it is just another excuse for me to be playing heroes again. I have finally run into the situation of having to cut down my playing time in order to save my family life.
Unfortunately, Goat may be caught up unknowingly in my circumstances. Yesterday Goat and I played a marathon session in order to finish a clan game before deadline. We started playing about 0900 PST and I finally had to stop playing about 2000 PST. We were almost done with our game, but after 11 hours of play, my girlfriend didn't care how close we were to finishing. Why would she care, all she sees is me spending about 30 hours a week playing heroes. To her it was just another ridiculous session.
I told Goat that I would try to play this morning, knowing full well that I couldn't. My one weekend play day had already been used up, and than some. Our clan deadline is the 17th of March. Goat lives in France, 9 hours ahead of me. That makes it next to impossible for us to play on weekdays. If we don't get some sort of deadline extension, we will have to forfeit.
When our clan war was first organized, Goat and I contacted each other immediately. We both agreed that since neither of us had played the map, we would practice on it for a week. We tried to play with each other the following weekend but our schedules did not permit. That left us with having to start and finish our game this weekend. Those with families know how hard it is to play ALL weekend, which can happen with games lasting over 12 hours.
I write this not as a cry for sympathy, but to share a story that demonstrates how easy it is to be unable to meet deadlines. As a avid H4 fan, I realize that I have chosen to play a game that has some very heafty time commitments. Goat and I have a game that is close to being finished. It seems silly to forfeit the game after 11 hours of play, because of the deadline.
I have been the victim of forfeits along with everybody else in TOH. They are maddening and create the situation where the time that the other clan memebers have spent playing their games goes to waste because not everybody can finish in time. Because H4 games take so long to finish, I have a suspicion that forfeits will be an ongoing problem, until we figure out how to deal with them. Some ppl use forfeits as a tool, others just get caught by deadlines. Please advise. 8)

you must mean boyfriend 
as for the timezones, i will use this thread to post my clan's teammates timezones, so future clan leaders should make use of them and team up closer timezones (that's what you do as a competent leader  )

There are 'extensions' made, mostly thanks to the fact that I'm so busy with so many things, that the clan updates are usually 1-3 days behind. Hence you have 1-3 days extension; but beyond that its not a big loss if you forefit one game, many clan wars to come. But I cannot make an extension beyond 3 days, it would infuriate others.
P.S. you have to sympathize with me too... I havent got time to play even one heroes game, let alone a clan war.

TimeZones and Deadlines
Yeah I got caught with like no time to play also. What's more annoying is the person I have to play against right now is Teglaphalassar (think I spelled that right) and he is 6 hours ahead of me. We started our game at 3pm EST wednesday, it was already 9pm his time, and we played until 7pm EST since he had to get up for work the next day. We are trying to find time to finish it but this is what happened today...I am awake he and have time he needs to sleep, he is at work I am asleep, he gets home from work and I have to leave for work now, I get home he is asleep... Anyone see where this is leeding?
Well what happens if we don't finish? I mean neither of us forfeit so does it just get put down as a draw? And what does it do to the rest of our clans?

I remember the days when my games were off 8 hours diff
I managed to make them all, but with playing at extremely uncomfortable hours.
but best thing is for the clan leaders, when setting up matchups, to figure this out beforehand and set up the players the best they can.

Well in theory ves that would work for round 1. But eventually you may need to meet up with a guy that is 12 hours ahead of you in round 2 or round 3. SO not matter how well the clan leaders set it up...sometimes it cannot be avoided.
I am currently in similar situtaion. I have to play GOAT in round 2 of our war. He is 6 hours ahead of me. I named off about 35 total hours of time I am available during week, and NONE of them 35 hours would work for him. So what do we do? Would suck to forfiet a war since its in round 2.
How feasible is it to sub one of your other members in to make sure the game atleast gets played? If there is a major time zone problem and BOTH clan leaders agree etc. Just a thought.

well jinx, take example from an efficient clan leader, namely myself ... i match up at closest timezones, and then we sweep no need for bothering with round 2

If you are so confident that you will not see a round 2... then how about put your money where your mouth is. If I force a round 2 then you conceed the war to us
