I like the necropolis creatures they work well togehter. Vampire Lords are practically immortal and fairly strong, Power Liches area effect shooters that pack some major damage as far as shooters go and Dread nights are a powerhouse, oh man nothing feels as good as when your 130 dread nights get attacked and you see that golden horseshoe above their head hear the sound, then see the double damage swrod strike down.

I like the Titans most, and the tower creatures like nagas or gienies. I like to fight like this:
-Get a quick unit or play with gienies cast mass slow, berserk or chain lighting, or mirror image on Titans
-Titans shoot at the enemy shooters
-Nagas defend Titans
-Gienies that w8ted now cast a spell on TItans or kill incoming units
It's a good system!

Okay, well I still have a thing for Vampire Lords. The reason is because I can go around with them, if I have about 40 of them and I am virtually indestructible (so long as its not vs undead/mechanical). I can also accumulate Skeletons as I am going along, leaving me with a cheap yet powerful army.
I really don't like Power Liches because they die too easily. I quite like Silver Pegasis as well because they force your enemy to spend extra mana. Actually, if I had good leadership, I'd often have a big spellcaster, with Familiars (mana leech), Magi (cheaper spells for me), Wraiths (drain their mana every turn), and Silver Pegasis (more expensive spells for them). Then storm over them with a level 7 creature, like maybe a Black and Gold Dragon.
I also liked Gold Dragons because of their speed. At that level, it makes the world of difference. Black Dragons in HOMM3 weren't all that good really. ArchAngels on the surface appear to be the best, and statistically they are, but the Resurrection doesn't work all the time, and they can only hit one (whereas dragons hit several), and they can be blasted by spells, and so forth. Against heroes, ArchAngels aren't particularly great, and are woefully expensive. Since I like speed, I'd often go with the Rampart town.
You have to look at Rampart town overall really.
Money making it is number 1 because of the Dwarven Mines getting extra cash. They have cheap troops. Grand Elves shoot twice and are nearly as good as Marksmen (2nd best upgraded level 2 creature behind Marksmen). Unicorns blind and are very tough for their level. Silver Pegasis are extremely fast (good for scouting) and have that mana drain as well, and then you get up to Gold Dragons which are the fastest creature in the game (not counting those not in castles). And then you have Dendroids who never leave your castle, and are the perfect castle defenders. And of course the Dwarves who stay with them with their magic resistance.
I really liked Rampart. Once I did the whole castle vs castle study, I stuck with them all the way. Castle towns on the surface appear to be the best, but its not true. Rampart or Necromancer are better.
The rampart is a pretty good town, I won't lie. HOwever, Elves are level 3 and I believe that the grand elves are superior to marksmen (being only level 2). YOur strategy of taking all your creatures out to attack, and leaving dwarves and dendroids left behind to defend is definetly a good strategy (one I never thought of). But I also believe half of the elves should maybe be left behind (it's always a good idea to have ranged units to defend towns).
I agree with what you're saying about angels, but that doesn't disclose castles completely. What about The crusaders and Champions?? These fighters are very, very strong and I believe their powers are complimented with angels, I also think alone they are better than Dendroids and EVEN the great unicorns.

No seriously Titans are the best creature, thats right the BEST creature in the game.
They are powerful, and whenever you have them, you should make them target the enemy ranged attackers as they will probably be your main threat.
I think the Nagas are to good to defend, so you should put the Golems to defend the Titans as they are good and they have pretty high defense skill so they are an excellent defender unit.
WOOD ELF AND GRAND ELF HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND!!!
They are good but no way are they stronger then Titans, nice choice but they cannot be the best, sorry to say

With pleasure i can notify that for Necropolis like more people guess the creature is the Vampire Lord [without upgrade the vampires are useless and weaker than Black Knight and of course Dread Knights], because this unit is cheap, reliable - mean fast movement, no limit [skill to fly] and fast attack and of course regeneration and reviving themselves with every hit on live unit like sucking their blood...yes the best  ...

Well, the vampire lords are very nice indeed
The regenaration or life-sucking function or something they have makes them a very good creature. But my favourite creature is the wolf rider. Don't ask me why but I find it's the coolest one in HOMM3

Titans I find are the most effective for me... they hve swung so many battles.
But my favourite has to be Gorgons. With a large stack Death Stare can totally ruin the enemy's high-level units. And they're cows

Yeah, when they're running around, the hair goes flipping up and down, pretty cool indeed, like a real hero. But they die rather awkwardly, just flipping their wolves over and lying on the ground like a pile.
Well, my favorie has to be the mage. (note: not the archmage with while beard, but the young mage.)

I really like Wolf Raiders. They`re cheap, fast and strong(although their defence is EXTREMELY BAD). Also i like their attack - when the wolf chews at you and the sword rips your skin at same time...
Vampire lords are unbeatable even if you put energy elemental vs vampire lord. Vampire lords used to have(or have)60 health, right?
