The Power we Hold

Sitting in my Government class I decided to listen (for once) and my teacher started talking about Posting Boards.  He said that most governments fear them because they have no real power or control over them and also because in large groups, they can go against the government.  Cause a ruckus to put it nicely.
So anyway what I'm getting to is, wasn't there a country that started or already banned games?  If so then we can ban against them, speak our mind and get that country their games back.
What do you all think of that?

All kinds of computer games, consoles (oh, and those things in casinos, too) used to be illegal in Greece, but AFAIK they fixed it.

Message Board and Internet Regulation

In the United States, regulating message boards on the Internet would be like regulating free speech.  Of course, there is the short list of things you are supposedly not legally allowed to write about, such as overthrowing the government, discussing classified information, and making death threats, to name a few.  Besides that short list and a few others I did not mention, pretty much anything goes.

Goodness, how I love this place!

Now, I have heard that Internet cafes are regulated in China, if I recall correctly, and a few other countries because of local laws and/or customs.  For example, I believe in some countries, due to the fact that pornography is illegal, Internet traffic is closely monitored and Internet cafes have to obtain licenses from the government. I am not the resident expert here, but rather, this is just what I have read and heard.

Yep, you are right, internet is closely monitored in china, mainly for political reasons.

Recently a law applied in greece, that banned all public electronic games that you have to pay to play, in an attempt to fight gamble.. silly law that didn`t last long, as it was very unfair for internet cafes and did little to fight real gamble.

As for the us, I can sense some obssesion about safety and copyright protection. Carnivore was created as a result, and while it`s perfectly reasonable to use it to track down terrorists and illegal porn, I don`t think it`s fair to sacrifice user`s privacy so that record and movie companies make more money. And that law renewing copyrights of old movies is just ridiculous

I don't find anything wrong about America but not everyone loves your country.

PS: As a mage you should do more thinking about that what people try to tell you.

Overthrow the government in ontario, why?  I mean after all they do a great job at coddling big business and destroying our social safety net. Not to mention giving the finger to people who favour democracy. We do have a chance to get rid of them this year though!
