Can't play online.
I have just gotten a cable access. Now since I have a wireless connection I have 2 IP addresses. Can anyone tell me if there is a way around this so I can play heroes online again. I can't play through the zone or IP and it is not just heroes it is all online games Really hate to have to go back to dial up access just to be able to play games.

Well the cable modem itself has a built in router. I am going to try to do a direct connect out of the back of the modem in a few days. I hope I can get this thing fixed or else I am going back to Dial up. Slow but a lot less trouble LOL.

wireless should work, my cable company told me to get wireless over a router cause of accesibility. the problem i can imagine is that your computer doesnt send out its ip, it send out the wireless routers ip.
hit run "winipcfg"
check your heroes ip (in game) and compair to the winipcfg ip. chances are your computer and all games are running through your internal i.p. (if you know anyone with same internet service pref. cable they first 3 digits should be the same i.e. my ip starts 24. same with about half of Winnipeg) if you see two ips and one starts like 255. or something where the other one is near what your local friends are. try connecting to the local number (i.e Real IP address)
However you should have been able to connect to games just not host. do games like Counter-Strike or things like that work? or do no games whatsoever work? your internet and email work? (obviously internet does cause you wrote here :S) There should be no problem if you can get the computer to recognize you main ip.
is it possible for you to connect directly to the cable/dsl modem? if you do that it will work for sure, but other computer wont have internet in the mean time.

I have 2 IP adresses 1 for my internal that the game and winipcfg sees. I got the server/router one that the wireless goes to. And then the Actual outside IP. The 1st 2 are 1 number off Mine ends in a 1 the router ends in 3. Trying to figure out how to get to the real IP for others to see. I have to run in passive mode on p2p programs like Dc+.
