Is it the summer ???
Seems to me that all heroes activity is going down ... for a few weeks. Since it is my first TOH summer  I'm asking TOH vets : this is usual for this time of the year ? Or is it just this year ? Cause feels so funny to see only 3 clan wars going on ...

If ya want my 2 cents, and I people usually dont 
But the main reason there is only 3 clan wars going, is that with the clan system such as it is, the stronger clans get even stronger. i.e. All Lord/Emperor clan with 10 Artifacts + Level Bonus lol. How does any of the newer or lower clans stand a chance? So Basically I predict, that the top 3 clans will be only clans still making wars in the next month or so.
Anyways, activity may be down in general, but even after summer dont plan on Clans getting more active.

Your theories are off
Activity in homm4 is really low, and I mean REALLY low, and still dropping.
Jinxer has access to the admin of ToH: Go take a look at the # of games played per day stats for the last few weeks, compare it to the month before the 3d0 bankrupt news.
Clans needs new teams, you cant keep trying to play the same few teams, its like inbreeding. At this rate, it will be low. Hopefully during fall fresh faces will appear.

whatever the source of the lull is (and i'm part of lull too ), i agree with jinxer that the clans system definitely needs improving for h5 toh (and dont go off saying there wont be a h5... i bet you anything there will be.. whatever company it is that picks them up) but we got plenty of time before h5 comes (or actually that should probably be a  )

Think about it.... it is hard enough for a Squire or Baron to beat a Lord or Emporer, let alone if that Emperor starts with 5+ Bonus Artifacts. SO I highly doubt you will see any new clans, and the exsisting clans that arent in the top 5 or so prolly wont waste there time either, that is just my opinion. I hope I am wrong.
It wouldnt be bad if the Clans with 5-15 artifacts would be willing to negotiate a clan war with lesser clans and agree to not use there artifacts, or only use the same amount of artifacts there lesser opponent has, but all I hear is " We earned them we are using them"
I agree those clans earned them, but does those clans really think they need 5-15 artifacts to beat a clan that is quite abit lower in ranks etc. I would think the artifacts should be used mainly for finals and/or agaisnt other strong clans that has 5-15 artifacts.
But anyways, these are just my opinions as to why clan activity is dropped( in addition to 3DO bancruptcy)
But atleast this was as I said there will be about 4 clans that have enuff artifacts to fight each other the rest of the way out etc. Good luck all.

hmm i think maybe good idea to prevent the snowball effect you talkin about jinx is for clans to get something when they lose too... this way you just hafto stay active to compete. i dunno

Well I think the biggest problem is all clans just blindly agree to start a clan war without making the bigger clans give any concessions etc. If Those top 3 clans HAD to agree to not use all them artifacts to get a clan war then might balance it out.
Also for FORCED clan wars. The forcing clan should have to spend prestige points or something to force a clan into a war. So that way they cant just bully everyone into fighting them. At somepoint they gotta be willing to make some concessions to get a war. Diplomacy is none exsistant at moment.
Also I noticed that early on the clan leaders didnt pay any attention to land placements. And they let top 3 clans pile there lands all together etc. Not very smart defensively.
Oh well what do I know. I been attempting Warcraft 3 a little every day lately. Who knows I might get that bug and move on to that. If I could get past first 10 mins without computer killing me lol.

which is why the lower clans should be playing more so at least someone else gets some artifacts. It does not always have to be the top three fighting everyone else. But since the top three have the advantage and the desire thry play more and win. Not to mention most the players are not to shabby

lol, I had exactly the same experience some months ago. Never seen a great AI like that (NWC could learn a lot). I studied online strategy guides, learned hot-keying, micro, how to counter-this-and-that, pump out units, rush.. and still lost against the comp (on a custom map, not the campaign). Well, with time the games were getting closer and finally I managed to beat the AI without saving.
Unfortunately I lost interest in War3, so all my efforts were in vain, lol.
However, I'm not sure if for somebody with an antipathy against rushing, War3 (or any RTS) is the right thing hehe

On the contrary Haile. I played War1 and War2 and StarCraft before I came to Heroes.
I dont have a problem with rushing in general. But I think a rush tactic is more applicable, in a game like War3. Anything that is real time that gives you a chance to defend yourself instantly. In Heroes if a rusher shows up and you dont have all your army on you or you are 1 day from building level 5 guild etc. Then you have no way of getting it. Atleast in a RTS game its all available real time. If I am being rushed I can still build that much needed building or run the other half of my army over to help in the battle.
" Heroes " It always discusted me that people wanted to rush so they could catch you with half your army and gain and easy win. It is to big a waste of time to spend 8 hours in a game only to get caught into a fight with 2/3 of your army still at home and you get slaughtered.
Atleast in War 3 or any RTS game if a player rushes you you have wasted 10 mins. Big deal lol.

Because theres like max 20 guys in gs every day.. and what 20,000 registered to toh or something...
I hope the players will return to heroes.. Or soon if no players= no toh and that would suck

well in warcraft its completely eqaul because if the rusher has the time to get those many troops then you should have the same and even more since it takes to time to to your base from his

Hey I think it's time for u to read the rules once again : the powerful clans just crawling in the face of gay clans ? . Give me a break. The rules are clear : u can't refuse a challenge from an archenemy. And guess what ? We are archenemies with all of u. So instead of just crying like little babies start to play and start to learn this game. BTW I'm willing to give up all my land bonuses in every game I will play ... and I'm sure the Teacher and SHK will do the same. Only Valkyrica (who is the weakest link of our clan) will use them all. I think this is fair since he will face only great clan leaders - like mighty Jinxer - mwhahahahahahaha. And Jinxer, stop being a gay and try to be a man..
