1:52 first haven, 3:28 academy, 5:19 2nd haven. Sorry I don't have all factions to show seeing as I botched my first two videos into pure black trying to understand that recording program. The system works all the same for all factions though so hopefully you get the idea how easy it is actually getting the ultimates after this.
I'm just curious is random hero/faction requisite? I mean if you can choose a hero getting ulti gets easier of course. For example Jhora usually gets ulti around level 25, sometimes even before. And for some heroes like the destruction hero for academy gets less use of it compared to others. And map size also effects greatly if you wanna even go for ulti. I wouldn't go for it in smaller maps for example as other skills are more cost efficient in short term.

ye choosing heroes at game start is for newbies.
Please don`t show me videos I know how to get the skills I want - have made it thousand times in arena maps. First video you take sorcery with haven which is absurd btw.
In real multiplayer maps you will need certain abilities before others so that will screw your ultimate streak but I don`t want to argue anymore. If you say that is so easy then I am noob so be it.

Wasn't one of the arguments that about 80% of the players only play against the AI? Multiplayer is a totally different game.

You do realize that I only meant to show you how easy it was to get ultimates and work the system. Natalka claimed that the system is not controllable so I showed how easy it was the get essentially the hardest skill to obtain.
And if you seriously wanna get to bickering about some skill, then I wouldn't get ultimate with that academy hero either. You can make better build without it as you don't need warmachines then either.
Edit: And to go even more nit-picking I wouldn't get ultimate on haven in the first place on normal game. You can make better builds without it

I am talking multiplayer all the time.
I don`t know maybe everybody was noob back then and got snowty skills every now and then. For me controllable means when I see freaking guards and I need that healing tent, mass slow, ignite to get it next level-up and not to be screwed by the system.
In multiplayer certain skill is needed NOW and not after few levels then you lose momentum or worse suicide.
Maybe I didn`t spell my argument right the first time. When I played back then I always had Enlightment with barbarians and good abilities but when I needed something NOW and had a good setup for it , the game simply gave me other ability/skill. So for me that is not controllable.
Emphasis is on NOW mind you.
For me random guilds with many viable options and free skilling is the best foundation for multiplayer hardcore maps.

I played heroes 5 until I encountered a bug where I couldn't attack with my griffins without moving. A quick uninstall soon followed.

Elvin you don`t know my off the records arena training sessions with sq79. We played 15 arenas a day for 3 months. It was crazy.
So many memories.. sq79 if you read this I want you to know that I miss our quality time
