This brings me to another point that's been on my mind. There are several members mainly here, in Tribunal and in the Wastelands that I think are extremely valuable to the community. Obviously all members are, but in any situation there are some that will rise up and give that extra something to make the place better. This to me is difficult to handle, because I find myself searching for a post to give them a QP in, sometimes their posts one their own don't really stand for the top2%, however their contibution shouldn't go without some sort of reward.
I was thinking that one possible way to handle this would be to create a new award for Contribution Points, this way members can be recognized for theit part in the community as opposed to the superious quality of their posting style.
This would be especially great for me in the Wastelands, because in spite of the fact that it's spam land, its an important part of the community. People go there and get to know each other, have fun, be silly etc - without the members that keep the Wastelands going, I think the forum as a whole would feel a huge loss. However, these posts are not QP worthy, and as well they would be deleted anyways - so here comes teh problem. If we had a seperate award that just showed a members' contribution (something beyond simple post count) it would really help the moderators I think, and would be a great tool for rewarding our posters.
It would also stop from giving QP to random posts just because the moderator wants to show some appreciation for a member. I find that these "token" QP are harmful to the system, just in that we advise new members to read through QP'd posts for examples of what the mods consider Quality. If a member looks at say naked girls, the post says "how you doin?" so what does that tell anyone about what quality is?
We decided to drop the term "CP" as Sir_Stiven says it has another meaning attached, it will be called something else.

It has come to my attention that I myself has been accused of spamming song lyrics in Tossers Tavern. I've even been asked to be given a penalty. Now I think this would be more than out of line, in my opinion as I have not received any warning about spam for a very long time.
However, I personally thought I was simply taking out the monotony of the thread, with some posts that were intentionally campy. So it wasn't funny big deal. I was trying something different. What I don't want to see from people is a billion clones making the same old carbon copy formula posts in Tossers Tavern over and over again, hence the monotony as I see it in my eyes.
That's the atmosphere of Tosser's Tavern in my eyes. Conform or get the hell out. I don't want to make the same kinda post over and over again. And what pisses me off is that everytime I do conform, people give me praise as it being a good toss, but I personally don't even think my good "tosses" are funny at all.
The thread is a click and it always will be to some degree. I hate to say it but it's the truth.

you read it correctly.
I wasnt calling for a penalty on you RSF as you dont spam HC up making stupid posts everywhere.
But for that matter i dont concider song lyrics to be of any point at all in a tossers tavern thread unless its a selfwritten song or a song that makes a spot on toss.
As for the "repeat" of tosses, well if thats how you see it then no one is forcing you to get in there. I still laugh at the posts there except for very recently when i think the spam has gotten all over the place.
TT is a place with a harsh language and thats to a degree also the glory of it. So the atmosphere gets lost when a bunch of pointless posts are made there.
If you wanna make a singtavern then go ahead, but dont lash out on TT because you dont like the atmosphere there.. or because of you think you are ARF

Where is it? What's going on?
Is the current thought that if it's not SPAM its not worth posting? Is the thinking that in order to contribute to the forum we need to create a game?
Hmmm, I'll make a game then. I'll call it QP Hunter!.
The object of the game is to try to collect the biggest shiniest reddest QP of all! Hmm, for RSF we'll call it a DP though 
The game takes place in the Tavern, one path to the star is the funny road, there is also the more serious road, the gamers route or you can take the story road. Its up to you!
Possible pitfalls would be plagiarism, neglect, spam or... well who knows, we'll find out the downfalls as we go
The cool thing about the game is that you can play it forever, there's no rush - because a Truly shiny star cannot be earned in haste. Another advantage is that you may benefit from the presence of experts who will be watching you along your quest, they can offer advice and all sorts of other great help to get you to that star!
Let the game begin!!

Lately I've been trying to work on getting something going to fill in the shoes of Tossers Tavern. That thread was a lot of fun. And before that thread there was Kuma's Tavern, which was just as successful.
Necromancer's Guild can be deleted for the second time... lol
It was a terrible attempt that I can see no one liked. lol
So I encourage everyone to take a look at Good Spirits Tavern. And if it doesn't work out, then I really hope someone else comes up with something similar. Tavern just isn't the same without those threads that really get everyone together for a long period of time. Tell the Truth, Tossers Tavern, and Kuma's Tavern have done a great job of this. It's a great addition to the other various chitchat threads that we have now and again in Tavern, because it keeps people interested and visiting the forum.

The funny path is so tempting, but sadly humor doesn't seem to be my strength. I found that out in the Library. I gotta assess my alternatives now. Let me think...
