More riddles to think about

Ok, i promised you, that i would return with some new riddle-stuff and I am!

1. I am a rock group that has 4 members, all of whom are dead, one of which was assasinated. What am I?

2. Four cars come to a four way stop, all coming from a different direction. They can't decide who got there first, so they all go forward at the same time. They do not crash into each other, but all four cars go. How is this possible?

3. Your in a place called Bobby's world and there is only one Law. There is a mirror, but no reflection. There is pizza with cheese, but not sausage. There is pepper, but no salt. There is a door, yet no entrance or exit. What is the law?

4. Alice, Ben, Charlie, David, and Ed entered a contest to guess how many jelly beans are in a jar. Alice guessed 30, Ben guessed 28, Charlie guessed 29, David guessed 25, and Ed guessed 26. Two were off the mark by 1, one was wrong by 4, and one by 3. But one was correct. How many jelly beans are in the jar at the store?

5. One morning a man is leaving on business trip and finds he left some paperwork at his office. He runs into his office to get it and the night watchman stops him and says, "Sir, don't get on the plane. I had a dream last night that the plane would crash and everyone would die!" The man takes his word and cancells his trip. Sure enough the plane crashes and everyone dies. The next morning the man gives the watchman a $1,000 reward for saving his life and then fires him. Why did he fire the watchman that saved his life?

So there are some longer riddles this time, think a little bit and answer them all

2 i would imagine its a road like near my house looks something like this
...2(down)
<=|=|=3(leftbound)
1=|=|=>
.......4(up)

(i dont know if that will show up properly or not its like a double road each way we have those here)

as for number 2. i would think its 29, and its more of a math problem then a riddle. seems simple, maybe there is something im missing. 25+4=29 26+3=29 28+1 30-1 (seems to simple explain further)

1. A rock group with no members in it? Then you're nothing but a memory.

2. This is not a problem. If the cross-roads is wide enough the cars will not crash. (Provided the cars hold about the same speed and drive into the crossroad simultaneously.)

Postions of cars at the crossroads:

=A==   ====   ====   ==D=
===B   =AB=   =BD=   B===
C===   =CD=   =AC=   ===C
==D=   ====   ====   =A==

Another way to explain it is that the crossroads is a roundabout with stop signs at the entry points. Each car will then enter the roundabout in different places at the same time.

3. No T's and/or A's allowed.
All allowed words lack these.
All disallowed words have at least one of them.

4. 29.

5. Because he slept on duty. (Assuming that the previous day was a working day. Otherwise, I'd say it's a mystery.)

>>>>1. I am a rock group that has 4 members, all of whom are dead, one of which was assasinated. What am I? <<<<

Rushmore?

>>>>>>2. Four cars come to a four way stop, all coming from a different direction. They can't decide who got there first, so they all go forward at the same time. They do not crash into each other, but all four cars go. How is this possible? <<<<<

What if they all turn right? Seems the simplest, they wouldn't ever go into eachothers lanes.

>>>>>>3. Your in a place called Bobby's world and there is only one Law. There is a mirror, but no reflection. There is pizza with cheese, but not sausage. There is pepper, but no salt. There is a door, yet no entrance or exit. What is the law? <<<<<

This is similar to an old camping trip game I played as a child, in this case everything that is allowed has a double letter.  pp, zz, ee, oo, rr etc.

So we have guesses of 25, 26, 28, 29, and 30.  The only number that has 2 that were one off is "29" (28 and 30 surround it).  It also works for the other two criteria.

No clue on this one , perhaps the guy was planning something bad this night, and figured the watchman would know about it... being able to predict the future and all.

I canīt believe it!

Whatīs up with you guys?
For my other riddles that iīve posted before, i had to wait about 3 weeks and you have solved only 2 of them and now??

You solved them ALL in one day!

Delfontes solved all riddles from number 1 to number 4 correctly and riddle number 5 was solved correctly from Djive

So i think they werenīt hard enough for you.....ok,ok, letīs see what youīre doing with theses ones that will follow now. But from now on, i will give every riddle a difficulty level (DL) between 1 and 5, so that you can see if you have solved an easy one or a harder one

1. Name an eight letter word that has kst in the middle, in the beginning, and at the end. (DL 2)

2. TWO x TWO = THREE
Each letter stands for one and only one digit, and no digit is represented by more than one letter. Can you work out what digits the letters in the above multiplication stand for so that the identity above is actually correct? (DL 3)

3. I always point in the right direction. My instructions are written in black and white. Disobey me and pay the consequences. I will never say more than two words at a time. What am I? (DL 2)

4. Add a few words to this equation to make it true: 1 + 1 + 1 = 1 (DL 3)

5. This garble makes sense if you can decode it:
YYUR-YYUB-ICURYY4ME  (DL 4)

Now letīs see, if you can solve them again in one day, you genius guys

ERM... why inkstand does? because at the end of word 'ink' and the begiinning of word 'stand'?

Quote:
4. Add a few words to this equation to make it true: 1 + 1 + 1 = 1 (DL 3)

1) 1 + 1 + 1 = 1 is false
2) 1 + 1 + 1 = 1 (mod 2) // this means 2 is a divisor of ((1+1+1) - 1)
3) 1 + 1 + 1 = 1 where + is logical
4) 1 + 1 + 1 = 1 or true
5) not (1 + 1 + 1 = 1)
etc...

Wow, those really are harder

Quote:
1. Name an eight letter word that has kst in the middle, in the beginning, and at the end. (DL 2)

inkstand (to explain, it says "in" the beginning, "and" at the end, take it literally)

Quote:
2. TWO x TWO = THREE
Each letter stands for one and only one digit, and no digit is represented by more than one letter. Can you work out what digits the letters in the above multiplication stand for so that the identity above is actually correct? (DL 3)

Wow, what math guru got this one without any work? hehe, I certainly wouldn't have gotten 138x138 for about a week.

Quote:
3. I always point in the right direction. My instructions are written in black and white. Disobey me and pay the consequences. I will never say more than two words at a time. What am I? (DL 2)

"One way" sign

Quote:
4. Add a few words to this equation to make it true: 1 + 1 + 1 = 1 (DL 3)

I think the guy above figured this one out: 1+1+1=1 is not correct.

Quote:
5. This garble makes sense if you can decode it:
YYUR-YYUB-ICURYY4ME (DL 4)

Something about the answer above didn't make any sense... why would it be "I see you are why why for me"... so I started thinking "two why's... for 10 minutes I was saying "two why's you are" out loud, but I never figured it out, then I cheated, so I disqualify myself from this one.

Wow, you guys are fascinating me!

I think youīre getting on fire with every more riddle

Now letīs see what solutions are right and which are ...rubbish

@ this_other_guy

You solved riddle 2 correctly !!

@ SevenSeasJim

You solved riddle 1 AND riddle 3 correctly !!

@ Delfontes

Yous solved some riddles, but TOO late

About your solution in riddle number 4 : NOPE thats not that easy!

And riddle number 5 ?.......Look down to my response to IRh

@ IRh

The solution for riddle number 1 was explained by delfontes correctly

For your solution for riddle number 4, i have to say, "Youīre thinking much too complicated!!"

A small hint:
32+32=1 (now add some words and it will be correct)
32 (white squares) + 32 (black squares) = 1 (chess field)

Now i think itīs really easy to solve this problem.

And your try for riddle number 5 is not that bad. Try to mix it with the solution from delfontes and i think you will get it! (Think more about the pronounciation and not how to write the words....)

And for your "riddle" with DL 100, here is my solution:
"To be or not to be, thats the question!"

Is that right

P.S. When the last 2 riddles were solved, i will give some more...and i promise, they will get harder and harder!

Well... 5 has been answered pretty much.  (Too wise)

4 now seems subjective, because our solution "did" make the equasion true... thus solving the riddle.

1 egg, + 1 slice of cheese, + 1 hot pan = 1 omlette

I don't know what the answer is, but I don't see how it would be "more" right than that.

the end of time and space
its the start of every end
and the end of every place

what is it you say?

also, not sure if this is a riddle (its like inkstand one so dont get distracted) ...

there is one common english word with the letters 'ufa' appearing right next to eachother in that sequence.

can you guess it?

hint (they appear in the middle of the word)

Personally, I'd wait until someone gets stumped before giving hints .

The first one is really easy... the letter "e".

The second one wasn't so easy for me honestly, it's difficult to think of a word from the middle out, hehe.

Eventually I cheated to get the answer, so I wont post it here.
