I've just thought of a new idea for the upcoming game. It's not connected to the gameplay, but to the looks of the game.
I thought of it when I played H0MM 2 - I enterde the Options, and saw the interface option. If someone doesn't know what it is i'll eaxplain - it was a little feature, which gave you the choise - how will the interface of the game (buttons, borders, etc'), there were three choises there: Good, Evil, Changing.
So basically the idea is: Why don't NWC bring an upgraded version of it - there should be some starting skins for the game, and also a skin development software. That way there will be kind of archive of skins at the offical site to download.
At the game there sohuld be some kind of directory for them, and in the game you can choose one you want, or, maybe, Random skin.
Though it's not a gameplay idea I think it's nice (I thought of it LOL), 'cause most of time you'll be seeing the interface, and it may affect the gameplay. For an example try to change the interface in your HoMM 2 (if you have one) it'll be weird, if you always play with one to see something different.
So what do you think of it ?

skins...ah one of my favourite subjects...
...yes it wouldbe great... different skin for each town..this would add some flavour to the game...

I didn't think of it as something that will work for towns only. But it'll be cool that way too. Yet, what do you think abot a sel'designed interface? You can raise your ego by it - just do all the stuff filled with your name, and I can assure that you'll be playing HoMM anly as Campaigns, Single maps, or Network games (DEFINETLY NOT HOTSEAT)

Though I am not your friend (watch your signature), I think your idea is very good and it would be very cool. Personally I think a different skin for each town will do, but a custom skin made by yourself is also a nice idea

Different skins would be nice, different atmosphere and landscape in each town would be great! (They're both missing for now...)

It's unfortunately rare for me to actually like an idea from this board, but I think that's a great one. They could base the interface on your starting town, so if you start with the necropolis it could be dark with a skull theme, and if you are asylum it could be in all different shapes and colors (for chaos). Then you'd really get a different feel for the game depending on your starting town.

Actually 3do does often listen to well thought out ideas you send them. If you constantly send them 10 pages of random ideas that pop into your head they will ignore it, but if you send one or two well thought out idea they might listen. I know posters have said they have sent ideas and hot 3d0 say that's a great idea and they would use it.
On the other hand it might be kind of late for this idea to be implemented. But you never know.

Well, this idea is well worth sending. And they may find it attractive. If not for the actual game, maybe for the expansion packs. But he should send it now.

I know the NWC e-mail; I don't think I'm supposed to. If you have Heroes III Complete, it has a "Contact us" section in the pamphlet in the CD case, that has 3DO's mailing adress. I sent ideas to JVC once this way. It took longer, since he's at NWC, not 3DO(at least, that's what I've gathered ) but it will get there eventually.
I like the idea. Multiple skins for different towns sounds best. You couldn't do good and evil, because there really is none in Heroes IV. There is just a system of rivalries and alliances.

OK, I have sent it to 3DO. Now I'll wait for their reply, and when it'll come I'll tell you what they said.
And Xenoplanes I just said the sourse of the idea. If you have seen HOMM 2 you know what I was talking about, if no don't bother yourself, it's not so important

NO! Better think of an Ice Demon (or whatever his name is) skin. That is cl.
Also - elemental skins, from which Fire will be the best.
I have noticed that some has found a differen aspect of my idea. I ment that the overall interface will be customiseable, but an interface, diffrent from town to town, is also good, but these two shouldn't disturb each other.
