Artefacts

I know that there was a thread about them, but... whatever. I'm making a new one. This is based on the site Heroes.ag.ru they have the beta (they are a part of the www.ag.ru site) and they are studying it to the deeps, hope you'll like what you see.

BTW, type is the type, and where is the art worn

Relics

Adamantine armor
Type: Armor, Torso
  Increases hero's health by 200%.

Adamantine shield
type: Shield, left hand
  +100% health to all of your creatures within 3 hexes around the hero.
  10% to block a hand-to-hand attack (the hero won't get any damage).

Archmage's codex
Type: Shield, left hand
  Gives the hero all level five spells.
  Note: To use the spells the hero still needs the required skills.

Bow of the Elf King
Type: Bow, back (not backpack)
  All units get an additional shot.

Bull rune battle axe
Type: weapon, right hand
  Adds 60 to hero's damage.
  Additional 6 damage for each level

Flaming arrow
Type: Misc, pockets
  Damages enemies in the radius of 3 hexes from the target hex.

Neener's Invulnerable Cloak
Type:Cloak, shoulders
  Gives the hero a 100% magic resistance

Ring of greater negation
Type:Ring, fingers
  All creatures on the whole battlefield loose their magic Immunity and magic resistance

Scarab of summoning
Type:Necklace, heck
  All summoning spell's effect doubles.

Supreme crown of the Magi
Type:Crown, head
  +50 to spell points.
  10 spell points are restored per day.

Sword of the gods
Type:Sword, right hand
  All your creatures within 3 hexes from the hero gain +100% damage.
  Those creatures get 5% less damage.

Thunder hammer
Type:Hammer, both hands
  Hero's damage is increased by 80.
  Additional 8 damage for each level.
  Held with two hands ( both of the hand slots are taken).

WOW

Altough I don't understand anything there!
I downloaded 2 super cool movies!
They show whole battles in TOP quality!
I saw GRYPHON and MANTIS in action!
Also the CRUSADER ROCKS!

The only weird thing was the killed body of the gryphon! LOL!

OK, now I'm talkin'...

There is a gread change because now most of those arties use prcentage based system, which means that as higher your level is the more those arts give to you - let's take the Dragon Scale Armor as an example:
It gives you +80% to your health, so if you have 100 health it gives you 80 additional HP, yet if you have 50 HP it gives you only 40 additional HP.

Also there simply are artifacts that give you a certainn bonus for your level.

Another thing seen from the arties is that, almost surely, the command radius is 3 hexes.

There is something else I wanna say, but I forgot it...

Slava, nice job bringing us up to date on artifacts. I'm curious about one thing, though. Earlier, we got information that said artifacts would have some disadvantages as well, and I don't see much of that in your list. Is it just that your source chose not to mention them?

Well there are some bad things, but not to much (don't yet know about the lower classes).
The best example so far is:
Gryphonheart's Plate Mail
Type: Armor, torso
+100% to hero's helth.
All spells cost 2 spell poins more.

Also these Major Staffs require both hands, that is also a disadvantage that, as I see it, will makw you have big decitions to take a weapon and a shield/book, or a staff.

I'd say that the indication was that all artifacts would not be useful to everyone.

A prime example of this would be access to magic spells. Now you have to be able to cast the spells to use the tomes. (Before you didn't even need Wisdom to cast spells in the Elemental Tomes or Spellbinder's Hat.)

There's actually an ample amount of this type of artifact. Therefore many artifacts are now only usable by certain heroes whereas before any hero could use them.

Imagive your lvl 50 Hero with Grand master Life Magic and Nature Magic getting hold of the artifact which gives all level 5 Death Magic spell, and you have no hero at all with that skill.

Seems the only use for that artifact is that you are lucky the enemy necromancer didn't get it. Your first priority is probably trying to sell/sacrifice it as quickly as possible to make sure the opponent doesn't capture the hero who has it.

I checked the disadvantages

and I found out that the most of them are in the Items group - these aren't even artifacts. They can be bought at the Blacksmith and, almost always, have minuses.

OK the request is taken... Combined Artifacts

I do have two notes:

The Combined Artifacts Are Only Used In Campaigns.
The things from which the arts are combined have no independent powers and abilities, only to be combined into the art




Holy Crown
Type: Crown, head
Things needed: Crown, Emerald, Pearl, Ruby, Sapphire
Only Life spells can be used in battle
If possible, doubles the effect of a Life spell. If not possible the spell costs only the half of the original cost.
All Haven creatures gain:
  +50% to damage
  +50% to health
  +2 to battle speed
All Necropolis and Asylum creatures get:
  -33% to damage
  -33% to health
  -1 to battle speed
The whole army of the wearer gains full Death and Chaos Immunity

Book of Enchantement
Type: Book, left hand
Things needed: 5 chapters (each one is an item)
Only Order spells can be used in battle
If possible, doubles the effect of an Order spell. If not possible the spell costs only the half of the original cost.
All Academy creatures gain:
  +50% to damage
  +50% to health
  +2 to battle speed
All Preserve and Asylum creatures get:
  -33% to damage
  -33% to health
  -1 to battle speed
The whole army of the wearer gains full Nature and Chaos Immunity

Shield of Resistance
Type: Shield, left hand
Things needed: Two Elepaht tusks, Shield, Rhino Horn, Rising Sun
No spells can be cast during battle
All neutral creatures gain:
  +50% to damage
  +50% to health
  +2 to battle speed
Creatures of all towns except Stronghold get:
  -33% to damage
  -33% to health
  -1 to battle speed

Thanks Slava! Considering how powerfull they are, it's logical to be used only in campaigns...But i wonder what would happend if two opposite artifacts meet in battle...

I suppose that each one has it's own camapaign, so the won't meet... but thinking of them meeting in battle gives me the chills (especially when each of the foes is sure that his art will make him dominate the battle).

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

So they can only be used in campaigns? Can they only be accessed through campaigns? That doesn't seem right. I'd expect that it's something like Armageddon's Blade; it never shows up in place of a random artifact, however, you can place it on the map if you wish?
