As it is now, Heroes 6 is hardly a game of the year contender for anybody. A lack of communication and patches has really made the community bitter.
As to my game of the year...
Hmm.. I'll have to get back to you on that one.

I got a real urge to buy Arkham City now and I got a feeling that I will change my vote once I've played it... it just sounds completely flawless.

Yes I've heard it's quite good, and I'm eager to get it as well, but probably won't until I can get it on the cheap used. Speaking of flawless games, I have to say that a previous Game of the Year winner I played recently, Uncharted 2, was virtually flawless save for a few awkward platforming moments. I wonder if 2011 has anything that can match it.

The only flaw IMO is that if you're already familiar with Batman then the story is awfully predictable.

Given how Batman has been lauded in a lot of places not known for lauding video games (Time Magazine, ABC News), I'm inclined to believe this game will win Game of the Year.

I've had limited play time with both Skyrim and Arkham City. But I'll vote for Arkham City. It seems to have captured the perfect feel of Batman, for me at least. "I have you surrounded, I'm, coming to kick your *** and there's not a **** thing you can do about it" destroyer of evil.
My batman just got his grapnel gun upgrade. Like a bird, a plane or a speeding bullet? Nah, you'll never see batman coming.
Oh, the Catwoman playtime is nice too.

If anyone cares, I got so many awesome games last year that I do not have time to play 1/4 of them.
Heroes 6 - Needs more bug fixes and town expansions but still awesome
LOTR: War in the North
Skyrim - Of course
SW: The Old Republic
Shogun 2 - Not sure if it was really released 2011 but I got last summer/autumn so it belongs in this group in my mind
