Why the **** does Skyrim update even though I've specifically set it NOT TO in the Steam options?!
I was preparing myself for Bethesda's new modified load order script that will **** up the load order for Nexus Mod Manager completely, making it currently worthless for managing mods.
But now it ninja-updated on me. ****.
What's more people are already reporting issues with the patch... another 1.1 scenario perhaps...? From what I've read the new patched load order system is having trouble handling foreign ESM files, like Jaysus Swords and others. Instant CTD reports are also coming in.
Even worse, changing the load order with the launcher has permanently disabled the Skyrim.esm for some people, resulting in a completely unplayable game.
Great work Beth. DON'T START YOUR STEAM IN ONLINE MODE PEOPLE.
Goddamn you Steam, when I tell you to not download stuff I fricking mean it.

Is this even possible without disconnecting your computer from the net?

No, it isn't.
Just disconnect your internet, press Steam and then choose Offline option.
Although sometimes that doesn't work either and you just get a "connection failure" screen or something and you have to go online anyway.
We'll have to wait for the combined powers of SKSE/BOSS/BASH/NMM to save us from this atrocity.

Morrowind has a permanent nostalgia bonus against other games, though, but I intend to find out for myself either way. (But seriously, the controls and combat in Morrowind are godawful, when you're used to the later elder scrolls games.)

Being used to everything in later TES games I found everything gawfull in morrowind. And only through piling mods upon mods, could I find myself playing that game.

Now that you mention older TES games!
Is morrowind a "nice to try" or a "need to try"?
I mean, Oblivion was awesome! And so is Skyrim.. So morrowind?

I loved Morrowind, but I didn't take it very seriously on the xbox due to graphics, but the concepts were great. Recently bought game of the year edition for PC, since it does need playability and graphic mods, but apart from that it's great.
I love that you have an armour piece for each of your body parts that you can customise, not sure why they ever removed that. I guess 'less is more'?

Second that - Morrowind was the best of the elder scrolls games, but damn those things were annoying.

Nah, it's mainly because of engine limitations. Having seperate body parts for the torso and the legs put a lot of stress on the engine when you had many actors on the screen.
I don't really mind the current system.

I don't get that. I mean, arms and legs move the same way, regardless of armor, right?
EDIT: I don't really mind either way, but it takes away from searching for scraps of super badass armour (and it takes away from treasure hunting possibilities). Like, at the end of morrowind, my character's clothes were this assortment of epic gear and daedric and dwemer artifacts strapped to him.
