@fuchris: That may be true, but at least I saw Hodgson rotate some players, Del Bosque started with the same 11 all four matches, and most of the subs were underwhelming. Both just aren't suited for their countries (anymore).

Iceland isn't a bad team, especially given such a modest pool to recruit from, but their advances have more to do with the other team playing incompetent football than it does with them being outstanding. If France plays like France, then Iceland will be out. If they act like a bunch of disorganized jackasses, then they'll join England as a checkmark in Iceland's growing hit list.
Belgium actually has a respectable chance of making it to final because they are playing very well. They're not going to have another team like the one they have now for a long time. If you want to cheer for a small country, they're a more plausible choice.

Agreed.
I'm not so sure about Belgium either. Yes, they played good, but that was against a small team. A lot of the times their players are too selfish and don't have good chemistry overall, With that said, a lot of their players are still young, so this generation still has a lot to offer for the next 6+ years.

England is already the weakest of the Big 5, but yesterday was inexcusable stupidity. It's as though they had a major fight 5 minutes before they walked on the field.
In other news Messi just retired from the national team after Chile won the Copa. USA couldn't secure 3rd place, but Colombia is a hella hard team. I was expecting Colombia to win the Cup.

When was England ever a part of the "big 5"? Even though the Netherlands haven't made it this year they are nowhere near top 5 level. Maybe they'd get into the top 10 but considering that until now the Euro was a 16 team tournament that doesn't mean much.

Although Netherlands, Belgium, and maybe Croatia appear to be better than England as well.
