My ideas about Heroes 5..
Firstly,I would like to introduce a new artifact called Curse of the Broken Arrow.Anyone with the artifact will cause all of the enemy's shots to be broken arrow damage no matter what the range. Next,I would like to talk about the possiblity of these spells-Protect towers(whatever u call it) during a seige and Protect War Machines and another spell called summon spells where a random spell can be summoned anytime.If the spell summoned was at advanced level it will become expert level..etc..
This is just a thought.The Protect Towers spell(during a seige) can also have basic,advanced and expert levels. Basix enable only 1 wm to be protected,while expert enable all wm's to be protected.Same goes for towers.
I would like to also introduce you all to my newly created creature called fisherman.If there's a peasant why not include a fisherman as well? It has 1 more health and 1 more speed than peasants,and it is an archer who shoots with a fishing rod!(if u get what I mean..)
Perhapes,just maybe,we can guard creature's dwellings the same way we guard resource mines. We can put creatures to guard the dwelling and prevent it from being used by others..
As for garrisons,I think there should be 2 towers on the garrison shooting and some walls there.
There are 2 secondary skills which I've made up.One is Fitness Coaching and another Speed Coaching.Basic Fitness Coaching allows all units to receive +1 health while Expert Fitness Coaching allows all units to receive +3 health. Basic Speed Coaching allows all units to receive +1 speed while Expert Speed Coaching allows all units to receive +3 speed.(lol this makes skeletons move like some vamp lords.Scary prospect)
Also,this is not a new idea,but when you take over your enemy's town you can raze it's structures,say max 2 per day for resources and gold. I've played a game before,something like Warlords 3 or something,where you can raze structures for resources..
Also,someone once said that there was too little building options in Heroes 3,once week 2 is over most of the time it's boredom.So,here are some new structures that we can consider to add in Heroes 5. Structures like Upgrade Blacksmith,Tougher Walls and Provisions Shop.(HeHe..Provision Shops sound awful but we can change the name)
Upgrade Blacksmith is for guess what,you're right! Upgrade War Machines. Some War Machines like Ballista or catupult is too easily destroyed,so when you have built Upgrade Blacksmith,you can choose to upgrade some WM. Upgrading WMs can make their life longer and some can inflict more damage like the ballista and restore more hp like the First Aid.
Tougher walls can withstand more shots from the catupult.
And Provision Shops-or whatever you call it can be used to buy potions and medicine.Medicine to recover from things like poison etc.. that would be antidote.
After combat,Towers and broken walls must be repaired at a very affordable price,say 300 Gold to repair towers. Or make that 500. Here's a new combat option called Power-up or Focus. I think Focus would be a nicer word. This allows the unit to focus and +10% to it's attack skill for the next round.Once the next round is over,the focus is over.Focus cannot be built up.
That's all I have to contribute.Please give me your comments.

Nice artifact, although you already have the spell... But it would add something new to the present artifacts, which usually protect you from harm or boost your powers, but do not weaken your opponent (usually).

I don't know if that might work. It depends on how will they develop the siege in H5. If you are barricadated behind your walls and you have spells protecting even your walls and towers, then your enemy could linger years and years outside your walls. Doesn't seem fair to me. the destruction of towers was the imbold for eventually going out and engaging the sieger.

First impresion....that seems way too funny...tell us more about it...special skills?

But there are already walls...the mapmaker can put enough troops inside the garrison compensating for towers, but I have nothing against it. Shooters on walls would be better, imho.

I'd love fast skeletons, and lots of them too. And furious also,... . But fitness is only one step away from having bodybuilders as heroes.

Most of us want this thing to happen, I think. 2 per day is too much, you can raze a whole castle in 3-4 days. no, I'd say max 1 per day. With reserves.

H4 towns are worst ever. Anything you do to modify them is called IMPROVEMENT. You can't go wrong there.

I agree on that, after sieges, damaged walls should be repaired. This would naturally go with the raze thing.

As an option it sound interesting. Actually, in real battle it would never work. Never ever the troops have gained momentum by waiting for a while. Momentum and efficience is gained only by speed and impetuosity.
Hey, don't be impatient. If you think you wrote too much to be ignored, check out the posts of HyDrA, for example. You will feel really frustrated.

Hmmmm a piece of advice soccerfeva.
Look at the altar index, and then make your suggestions in threads that already exists. It makes it easier for the moderator and makes the forum more tidy.
There is no way for the mod to move things between topics. If you need to ask for a topic exist, either ask the moderator or post a question in the index thread.
Just to show you what already exists I've indicated some topics below while commenting on your suggestions.
The Curse of the Broken Arrow looks like a good idea. Artifacts that removes or downgrades abilities are in short supply. (There exists three or more good topics about artifacts, accessible through the index, where you could have added the artifact idea.)
There also exists one or two spell topics in the index. Medusas thread is probably the best. New spell proposals can be added there.
Protect Towers. I guess this would be like the Sanctuary spell which alreaady exists in Heroes 4, but castable on Towers War Machines (assuming they return for H5, removed in H4)
Creatures. There exists 50+ threads about creatures in the altar index. Fisherman: I currently don't see the need. The unit would be too alike the peasant.
On the skills perhaps a new topic could be considered for these, though if you look around you'l find plenty of related discussions. In Heroes 4: Tactics skill does add to the creature's movement. There is not a Hitpoint increasing skill, though I'd prefer it to give a percentage increase of the HP (rounding up) of a creature.
Razing towns has been discussed at length. See Oldtimers topic. There was also a more recent topics on the first few pages.
The improved builds is discussed in one of ThE_HyDrA's threads about H5 and would fit nicely there.
Upgrading War Machine? Overall neutral to that idea. Overall though, I'd prefer choices over upgrades to a fairly high extent, and if you have upgrades I'd prefer simple colour changes. (Too reduce the animation work required for them.)
On the walls. I'd say H4 is correct. You can't tear down the walls to begin with. The damage done to the wall should be negligble and cost nothing at all to repair.
I'd want creatures that can scale the walls or otherwise circumvent them.

I haven played H4 many times,so forgive me if I'm lagging behind.But I love H3.Absolutely.Here are some NEW ideas I've thought about.
Primary Skills include..
Spell Power
Spell Duration
Knowledge
Understanding
Magic Resistance
Might Defence
Might Attack
Magic Attack??
Let me elaborate these points.
1 Spell Power-The Power of a spell(damage)
2 Spell Duration-The Duration of a spell
3 Knowledge-The number of spell points
4 Understanding-Understanding makes your hero's spells cost less
5 Magic Resistance-Resistance against spells/magic
6 Might Defence-The basic defence-as in H3
7 Might Attack-The basic attack
8 Magic Attack-Is there such a thing in H4?And should we introduce it again?
Creatures avaliable for Heros to ride on.
Sick and tired of seeing horses,horses,and more horses in H3,I've come up with this idea.
Castle-Cavalier
Inferno-Demon
Fortress-Gorgon
Stronghold-Behemoth
Rampart-Unicorn
Dungeon-Manticore(forgive me for wrong spelling)
Tower-Naga
Necropolis-Black Knight
Bearing in mind that these are creatures from H3 and may not necessary be used in H5.Also,I do not like to see the sight of Heroes riding oh Cyclop Kings-yucks!
Next,Heroes on Birds would enable them to-gasp,fly?!
Unless we have air and land movement in H5--EXCITING Prospect!
That means we can move in the air and on land-yipeee!
If you were wondering about how realistic the Primary skills are,consider using a diablo 2 system or something like that.
Diablo,for every level up,gives u 5 points to spend on the skills.We could introduce,say, 3 points.
Also,I was thinking about repairing artifacts-more realistic.Some artifacts does not need to repair because they are made of tought stuff.While some can be easily broken.
How do you find these ideas?Any comments?
And I continue with editing~~
Artifacts can only be imbued at the Blacksmith~something like Diablo,and imbuing needs gold.So for example to assemble armaggaedon's blade you'll need 5000 Gold,5 wood 5 ore 5 sulfur and 5 gems(or something like that) You get create your own aftifact.With the inclusion of factors like durability of artifacts,HOMM could be a nice game to play in.
Also,we could include minor heroes~used only for transporting troops and artifacts and potions.Minor Heroes cannot gain experience but the gained experience from the treasure chest can be accumulated and given to a Hero of your choice~not a minor hero.
How do you like the idea of a minor hero?I just don like monsters moving around~It doesn't make sense.

In heroes IV i like having the hero involved in the battle, it fells more involving. I hope they keep this feature in Heroes V. Hey Socca feva, good idea about heroes on birds (Or dragons even ) It probly wont happen but it would help add more individuality between heroes.

its easy: they make this pyramid thing. horse -> black rider -> hero. very comfy.
