Quote: @Lord_of_Chaos: Please do! If you have time, I'd love to see your version of the Rabid Devourer, think of it as a small, more animal like Caehvlir. Remember to make the tongue hang from its mouth and don't forget the drool!
Alright, not a problem. I'll see what I can come up with, then post it here once it's done. Don't worry about the drool. Adding drool to creatures is one of my favourite things to do .
Quote:
Oh, and you mentioned making a new version of the Caehvlir, give him more armor and give him him straps across his chest and back that holds the hut in place. And about making a high technological hut, just paint it black and have the roof made in metal or something, don't forget the balcony for the hero.
Not exactly making a new version, but improving on the original. I scanned the picture onto my computer and I'm adding colour to it and cleaning it up in Adobe Illustrator. The hut shouldn't be too much trouble to change and the straps across the body will be easy. Adding more armour however, will be a little harder, but I'll give it a try anyways.

*Bows respectfully*
I'm wondering what to do next on my faction... I'm thinking of adding a sort of skill tree but I feel like basing it around the H5 skill tree to avoid having to make a completely new one. You know, having attack with Battle Frenzy, Archey and Tactics, and then adding unique skills after those...

Thanks, I didn't plan to make an explanation about the Infernal Imps first, since I felt that it would be surrendering to all the inferno lovers
But when I made the story, that idea crossed my mind and I couldn't bare myself to change it

Superb work Adrius... for your hard work with imps.
Your story is good (IMHO good explanation) and alchemy, potions and ingredients great. I like technology implemented in fantasy world (look at gremlin )and your rifles, pistols are ok, but crossbow is the best...
Abilities are ok, but try inventing some new names for them and idea of adding unique skills - i can't wait. Moreover i think that you have done great job with the creatures: construct, imps, beast, ogre...pretty cool lineup (i like tier 2 the most - large creature, band of three - reminds me of MTG, very inovative)
One more suggestion...maybe u can change the names of your imps abit, so they aren't imps, imps, imps...leave the imp part (i think Bokveil sounds good without imp in front)
And most of all i would like to see images of your creatures (tier 2 & 3 especially)
All in all great job...

Devourer concept art has just been completed. As you can see, it has that humanoid shape, but is somewhat lizard-like. A large mouth full of teeth (my specialty ) is presesnt, hinting at the fact that its a devourer. I kept it's design fairly slim because it sounded as if it was a fast, agile creature. I gave it somewhat large feet, so when it's hunting it could use the large muscles to give itself a big starting speed boost. I placed it on a cliff-like edge with its head facing upwards, almost as if it were trying to catch the scent of prey. And of course, there is drool, because you cant have a vicious beast without it.
Edit: It's a little hard to tell from the scanned picture, but those blackened things on its knees are supposed to be bone outgrowths. I figured, with the design I gave it, it would probably have its knees on the ground while devouring its prey, so maybe over so many years, it developped extra bone there to protect it. Also, I gave it a small tail because it looked wierd just ending there, plus it would help with balance considering its head is big and full of teeth.

IMO your devourer is cool ...
I like: big jaws, stronger backward legs than forward and appearance in general but for my taste would add bigger, stronger tail and spikes on the spine so he would look more vicious...
Great job...maybe u can draw my ideas for creature contest ...

Great story - I liked it, how ever the chapter "the fall" was a bit weird - Some Urgash chaos magic he did, making a imp baby turn to a 4 feet tall monster

Well, Lord_of_Chaos, I hate to be critizising and all but I thought of the Devourer as a degenerate Caehvlir, and the Caehvlir have eyes... But that design's also good!
Its somewhat "clean" form makes it look like it really can change appearance, I actually prefer that form to my own vision, but please add eyes if it's possible

Hmm, I suppose eyes could be added without having to change too much else. But since its a predator of sorts, I figured I could take away the eyes and it hunts and attacks through a hightened sense of smell and uses its toung to taste the air, kind of like a snake.
I'm still working away on that improved caehvlir, but for my next pencil drawing do you have an preferances to which I do?

Any of the Imp creatures would be nice, they're not too complicated. Big noses, small eyes, steel hats (For underground safety, you don't want to get a stone in the head... think of a large cowboy-hat in steel) and the robe. If you do the ranger, remember the newly added crossbow, and if you do the Grenadier, remember the mask.
Edit: I added your Devourer pic to the main post, hope it's ok with ya. Can't thank you enough for your support. Oh, and you can keep the Devourer without the eyes if you want to, unless you've already started on them.
To everyone else, I've removed the Imp prefix to all creatures.
Oh, and be sure to check the update list at the bottom of my main post, it's an easy way to see what I've added so far.

Hmm, alright. I was actually thinking of doing either the ranger, grenadier or blocker next.
It's perfectly fine that you added it to the main post, as long as you dont take credit for drawing it . I really dont mind helping out because I love doing this kind of stuff. I've been kind of busy with various things that past couple days, so I havnt had the time to work on anything, so the devourer remains as is.

Hmm... Well, it wasn't exactly what I was thinking about... Then again, my mind is quite a strange place
When I heard suggestion, I thought you meant like a campaign overview, not each mission described in details and so on... None the less, thanks for your suggestion, but when I think about it I want to do the campaign part by myself.
Feel free to give me suggestions on the campaign story as a whole, but keep the mission details to me, since I'll probably change a lot of things to fit my own story fused with other's.
Edit: Just added the Alchemist's Unique Skills to the main post, hope ya like it

Quote: Anga’s Despair (Decreases both your enemies and your own luck by 2.) Requires: Soldier’s Luck
White Hatred (If the enemy hero casts a Light Magic spell on one of his creatures, the Alchemist will throw the Combat Alchemy bomb Explosive on it/them. If the spell only target one creature, the damage is normal, if the Spell is a mass one, the bombs’ damage will be halved on each target.) Requires: Detain Light
The luck one first: Wouldn't it be weird to gain a skill to nerf your enemy's luck and still nerf your own. If you got expert luck and that perk - you will have +1 luck (unless you got artifacts but then you still wouldn't get high luck) - I find it rather useless, why not just apply deadmans curse?
the light perk: What combat bomb are we talking about here?
oh and what about we work out some new names instead of: white hatred, black hatred and so on. Those 2 sound racist
But what about: Hatred against light, Hatred against darkness, Hatred against destrucktion - und so weiter Sounds more english.
and on a few of the skills you forgot to write what abilities they needed. but else it is good.

It's a skill to be used if you already have a high amount of luck, kinda risky, I know.
About the White/black Hatred, never thought of the rascist thing... But it's only a name so I can change it. And about me forgetting the requirements on some skills, I didn't. Those are the skills that doesn't require anything but basic attack and so on, like battle frenzy.
Ps. There's an alchemy bomb named explosive, check the Combat Alchemy section
Edit: Changed the White Hatred etc. skill names to White Banishment, dark banishment and so on.
Next thing up should be the campaign I think, things are getting harder...
