I never heard about wog update asking for latest version of unrar.dll. I can't help you here, sorry.

To install the package you need a newest version of unrar.dll.This version you may find at our download page:http://strategyplanet.com/homm/wog/download.shtml.Please download it and place it to the same folder where the install.exe is located.
Well does this help? But the site is dead!
EDIT: I did it!! weeeeeeeeee.It was hard.

Well, I reinstalled it, but the problem still exists. Several DEFs are lost. Actually that doesn't matter, because the game still runs steadily.

This was not a surprise. Every time someone gives us something great (in this case, the greatest mod/map ever), there are problems. This has happened to all Salamandre's mods/maps.
I personally had no problems installing it. It was damn simple.
1. 100% clean WoG.
2. Unrar everything to Heroes 3 folder.
3. Run Update.exe (or H3wUpd.exe).
4. Place the map to /maps folder.
What can go wrong?

I checked the .wog update file, the 7 aforementioned troublesome DEF files aren't included in it.

Not exactly. Of course you are right about making a complete conversion of game mechanics - that's why I would like the mechanics to stay the same and only expand them. But that's me. Then again - it is possible to add NEW mechanics and also make it usable for the AI.

It will work individually for every hero - no matter AI or not. Of course it would be almost (almost )impossible to save all bonuses for all creatures (and "almost" because every hero has 200 w-vars and we do have 196 creatures, so... ), but saving the bonuses for like 7 creature types should not be a problem. Even if several bonuses would be counted.

It comes out far less spectacular than the work you've done with all the creatures, graphics and gameplay changes, but I still hope there are some people that will like my point of view .
