 I am very happy that you are still interested in the
project.

 I think we should restart this project in a better
way. Firstly, i want us to be clear about the target
of this project. It is, imo, to make an OPTIMIZED
(bug-clean, balanced, creative) version of Heroes III
(we can call this version 3.3) which is ACCEPTED BY
THE COMMUNITY. I think u agree with me about
"bug-clean" and "balanced". About "creative", i mean
there are ideas to make HOMM3 more enjoynable such as
dual swords or chess-like-timer. In fact, this is just
an extensive part, less priority. Also "accepted by
the community" is what we aim to, we dont make it for
just you and me to play, do we.

 Below are basic layout of the project
   1. Sub-project Bug-cleaning
      - to fix bugs (or anything like bug) as Naga
bank, Artifact Merchant, Devil Teleport...
   2. Sub-project Balancing
        2.1 Creature balance
        2.2 Hero balance
        2.3 Spell balance
   3. Sub-project Creating
      - briliant ideas from people

 Except bugs, any project's implementation should be
largly disscussed and accepted by the community. I
know this is hard to get but also what we working for.
Infact, it is not that hard. Just organize topics
properly, people will be noticed. When they find out
this is what they alway dream of, they will join us.
It is accepted by the community, it is accepted by the
world of HOMM.

 So, now i am waiting for your ideas before we can
boot up things.

Fix This!

How about fixing the major bug with the enemy hero screen that ruined H3 for so many addicts?  

I won't say what it does b/c it would ruin it for you too; nevertheless, it would be tragic for you to actually fix a number of bugs and skip the worst one in the game. If you need help discovering it (H) you should ask Simyar, he tried to get it fixed way back when, before version 1.2, but of course, it's 3DOh.

Oh, and I don't know if anyone said this yet but there used to be an idea which I loved, it was for a for a clock that worked like a chess clock, so you use more time on the first day than on other days, or wherever you needed it. So perhaps you'd be able to set the clock for 14 mins per week, which would be the same as 2/day but you could use 3 or 4 mins on day 1 if you chose.  Or maybe you could set it for mins/month, or mins/game, that'd be interesting.  

And what about standing in front of the castle gate, I'm sure your on that?

Are you saying this because there is no agreement between people ?.
If so would it not be a good idea to get some polls going
to see which changes would be the most popular.
People never agre when they are just talking because flamewars and spamming are too much temptation to resist, but polls will have a much better chance of establishing common ground.

This is where polls come in. I have heard many people mention that they would like a 3 min button. If you just go ahead with an idea that you like without finding out first whetther most people want it, then the project will flop like Homm 4 did for the same reason.
If 3d0 had got involved with the communities the way Ubisoft are doing them Homm 4 would never have happened.

You are right and i m totally agree with you. Jst read the project's principle, you can see it.
What i am doing with the chess-like-timer is jst my own liking, i wont make it in the patch if there is not much people want it to be.

Here is my patch anlyse of what should be upgraded i Think Phoenixes , fire elementals , efreets and other fire creatures should be immune to to certain castles defences where fire or heat is a damaging defense to the attacker i dont think the defender of castle can have that as a advantage when creatures the attacker have is units that is pure fire units that the fire units is inflicted damage by fire as a castle special defense damaging object like the inferno castle defenses i will you further ideas of what think should be upgraded but i cant just remember them now thank you for taking shuch a important role Greetings From REIMA RIPLEY ME

Relax. I just forgot to put the smiley up.
Talking of phoenix's. I think it would be good to reduce the number you get per week.
In fact i think that any patch should attempt to balance out Necro and flux as it is better to have these towns balanced than to ban them from games as most players do.
I think we need some polls on what should stay or go with reguard to these towns.
Oh and i think perhaps nearly all players would like to see a 3 min turn option.

buildings.txt

increased cost of necromancy amplifier and skeleton transformer

artraits.txt
necro artifacts blocked ... also statue of legion blocked

sptraits.txt
dimension door fly water walk armagedon banned from the game ...

crtraits.txt
skeleton has 3 hp ... upgraded 4 hp
pixies are slower
pheonixes grow reduced to +1 a week
inferno is batter archdevil 250hp ... hellhound cerberi grow incresed ....

crbanks.txt
utopia rewards are lowered ...
hives and grif cons give some rosources and gold no more troops ...

...................
This is beta of my patch .... Maybe it will help you to make this your project ...
For many things to change like diplomacy there will be needed a intervention into exe file sorry this I cannot do ...

But as for diplo I would changed it to only reduce the cost of surrendering .. nothing more .... also I would change some hero specialities  like logistic resurection chain lightning to something less powerfull ....

This is my two cents ... I really hope that your patch will become a multiplayer standard and wish you good luck...
It is good to see that there are some people that think about the better homm world were no rules were made by players ... No rules were made becouse no rules were NEEDED ...

What about air shield/armorer vs siege towers bug? They increase the damage instead of decreating it.

Also, how about making cons and hives give random level 6/7? I think those dwells add diversity to the game. Making them give res or gold will take many strategies out of the game. And maybe scale those dwells to give level 6/7 from weaker towns more often. i.e. say, 25% chance to get inferno level 6/7, 20% fortress, 20% dungeon, 10% tower, 10% rampart, 10% stronghold, 5% castle.

Does anybody have any info about where the different modules of this game are located in the .exe, or would I have to disassembly the whole thing to find out?

Immposible .... well it's possible but only with WoG and ERM ...

U cannot do that by only editing txt files ...

i would love to test it...it's a great ideea and i guess it is the best thing to do after all.. heroes 5 is a diffrent game.. heroes 3 from this discution is something lovelly!

i've been suspended this project myself due to the lack of vote on the patch. maybe people are waiting for Heroes V. i was confusing of what should be done so i started to focus on other projects. hope that Heroes V will meet  what we want.
