OKay vesuvius has explained it all. Fairly simple.

Mondays are my most free day.  So all updates will be done on Every other Monday.  So the first update will be on Monday Sept 29th.  I figured every 2 weeks would be plenty.

Many thanks, Jinx.  That seemed like it would be a lot of work.

Couple of questions/comments:  Perhaps the games played on "Boring's Mountain" were given to "Chameleon."  Sorta hard to believe "Boring's Mountain" has a "n/a" popularity rating.  Also, I don't understand the difference in numbers between the 4 player and the 2 player versions of "Dog Days."  I'm guessing both maps should display the same numbers.  Finally, Zud's got 20 games on "Imperial Prison" all by himself.  It's kind of hard to believe only 7 non-Zud games have been played on it (but it's certainly possible).

I'm not trying to be critical, here. Just trying to help by pointing out some possible errors that may need to be corrected.  Either way, the page is much more reflective now of actual playing patterns.  Thanks for that!

@ Laelth

I appreciate your questions..  While I was doing the updates I had similar questions lol.

According to the TOH database there has only been 27 total games reported on Imperial Prison.  Keep in mind tho there was 54 individual reports on the map. BUT it takes 2 players to = 1 report. So the popularity number reflects the number of GAMES on the map reported. Does that make more sense ?

There were like 3 maps I had trouble pulling up in database, and I think Borings Mountain is one of them. SO 3 maps outta the 78 may not be 100% accurate. Ofcourse if I recall all 3 of them maps were either a CD map or a map that I never heard of hehe. I will catch them on next update.

And about the dual posted maps. I wasnt sure what to do about them. The statistics page for example only says Dogdays etc.  It dont say DOgdays allied etc. SO I just assumed that all the ratings were for the 2 player map versions.  I gotta talk to vesuvius and find out what I should do about the other verisons. If ya think about it you cant really just give all versions the same numbers because DOGdays could be played 300 times and the DogDays allied on 4 times so they are 2 different maps and popularity much different.

wuauu.. updates
you the man jinx

think allied versions should have same stats as normal..
considering its the same map and we cant see which games been reported in allied or 1on1.

Well the player ratings might work to just make them the same.  But the popularity would not.

Popularity is based on how many games are played on that map.  And if Crimson CLover is played for example 100 times and Crimson Clover allied is only played 5 times. Can really give the same popularity etc.

And the rating for that matter are based on players voting on how well the map is and plays.  And since most maps are created for 2 player in mind then later changed to beable to do allied, maybe peoples opinions and votes on the allied version arent the same.

Basically people need to vote specifically for each version.

Jinxer

When you report a win or loss...

it doesn't say what map it is, allied or 1v1..

Same name on both.

f.ex:

dog days
dog days

lost in space
lost in space

So it is random which one will be picked (I doubt anyone has thought that one of them was for allied only)

Popularity rating should probably be added up then?

I will talk to vesuvius and see how best to handle this. Maybe the maps on the report mage need to be more specific.  Like....DogDays Allied etc.

dont worry about that

If there is a map choice, eg Crimson Clover with several variants, they are all counted the same.  So if there has been 100 games played in total for that map, then all of the variants get that popularity rating.

yes, is quite intimidating..  if one is playing tc in a game they will think they are playing the red eyed man... which is a scary thought

what will red-eyed man do?  what is red-eyed man really capable of?
