I think a heroe with expert water magic and with at least one Phoenix/Archangel/Archdevils/Gold Dragons (with no boosters they are fasters then BD) is a good option. With expert water magic you have expert protection from fire, that reduces fire damage in 50% and is easy to get because it is a 1st level spell. This way you can play first because you have faster troops and you can cast protection from fire on all creatures. Take only on your army creatures with high hp and you will not have that much casualties and can try to overun the enemy. This trick is also usefull in the folowing rounds because the pretection whill last for a while. If you combine this with resurrection (raise dead if you are playing necropolis) it will be very efective even against very powerfull spellcasters.

I donīt understand your logic Roesisch. Of course you would leave the rest of the army somewhere if you get armageddon. You donīt need them with that powerful spell. Besides you hero will run much faster than when having all 7 levels in the army.

Your hero is NOT affected when being equipped with Armageddons Blade, but I have never found it on any map outside the Campaigns.

No Phoenixes are faster and you don't need armageddon's blade to defeat your enemy with finger in back place of your body.

Error

Sorry with this post but I haven't seen the next page, but phoenixes in army are the best form of using armageddon.
Example:
You attack a hero - look's easy? Let's say that he has Orb of Inhibition. If you have black or golden dragons, the enemy may start the battle and win with no difficoulties, but if you have phoenixes you cast some spells and quickly flee.

Bad for you if the enemy has some good artifacts that make his troops faster oworst of all if h has Shackles of War there is no hope for you.

Conflux has the best anti armageddon lineup with phoenixes, magic, energy and magma elementals. Add expert haste and those draggies will be flying from wall to wall .

Based on this thread, the go-to in PvP facing BD+Armageddon as Rampart is Golds, dwarves, and two stacks of War Unicorns (add other House anti-magic stacks like efreets/BD/conflux), with spell order (1) anti fire magic (2) mass slow (3) mass haste/bless/prayer...? Anything else for this scenario?

Post above spoke of Thorgrim. How about Giselle, the HOTA Interference expert? How relevant is high interference (Giselle + interference artifacts) as a counter to BD+Armageddon?

the information here might be kind of outdated considerings its from 2003 most people here are just random people, including me so all advice should be taken with a grain of salt prot from fire is a fire spell as well (only might come in handy against arma but thats very rare, more common to see people using exp anti magic if its present) and water magic sadly is generally viewed as the least useful magic school

armageddon strats with rampart almost never happens, sure you very rarely face armageddon dwarves + sometimes 1 fast unit to get turn priority to cast arma but thats it, and thats just from a random rampart town and not from a rampart starter usually. gold dragons are generally too expensive to get, people seldom even get green dragons because of the build prerequisites and the resources needed for them so its rare to see gold dragons in non diplo templates

with the arma dwarves you usually just give the spell to a random scout hero and not with your main, just to weaken opponent or leave a bomb trap for opponent to attack

replied to this in the rampy hero thread too but thorgrim is just a meme giselle is really good but she provides no early game advantage so gotta have a good map to get rolling with giselle, but shes rly good in final battle situations, she counters mages easily
