New Intertournament Competition

Hoher, from Heroesleague, is setting up an intertournament competition 'Tournament of the Century', where players of homm4 ToH compete against players of other tournaments, ArchangelCastle, Behemoth's Lair Empire, HeroesLeague, HeroesPortal, and Heroic Corner.

There is a list of rules below that he wanted me to review, but I thought it best that you guys look at it too.  So we will be looking to create a team of players to represent ToH.



1.      These rules are recommended. If both players agree to change one or several rules - they are free to do it. If they can not reach the
agreement, these rules apply.

2.   The tour is being held using HoMM-IV: Equilibris v.3.3 English
> version. (http://www.zone.ee/homm4/eng) (or Winds of War as a second option)

> 3.  Every team consists of 3 players. (The list of players must be
> submitted to the **Council by the Team-captains before the tour starts.)
> Every player will fight one of the players from opposing teams on-line.
So,
> if there will be 3 teams - each player will play 2 games.

> 4.      Every game has a limit of 2 weeks. The deadline is set, after
which
> the game is considered ot held, and no points are adjudged.

> 5.      Recommended game difficulty - Advanced (3-rd), time limit - 4
> minutes, stationary guards. Both players can agree on any other settings.

Well count me OUT.  Maps selection kinda slim and undesirable.  And no game can go past week 7 ??  Sounds like a rushers dream tourny hehe.

i see a few things that are a little silly, imo -

#1 you can pick alignment .. good players should be able to win with any alignment.
#2 you're only banning GM necromancy?  Master Necromancy is still VERY powerful.. you should really ban ANY necromancy skill, not just GM.  taking 200+ ghosts to final battle is BIG advantage for death.. not like death doesnt already have enough advantages anyway.
#3 the map list might be expanded... the map list right now is a bit questionable  after all, i thought this was a "world" tour, not a russian tour (circle, plains, heart are HALF of the maps?  lol)

This is preliminary version of rules, and all your offers and corrections will taken into consideration. ToH’ers have greate expirience in on-line, that why we want to discuss this rules with you.

Hoher if you seriously are accepting suggestions, you gotta get a better maps list. Circle -- Heart -- Plains gotta go!  Add ANY other 3 maps to the list. Or if nothing else add about 10 more maps to choose from.  With your lets each eliminate one process you are always gonna be stuck with one of the 3 maps I listed. Seems kinda rigged to me.  I think Camel said it best, sounds like a russian tourny not a World tourny.

Guys be constructive.  Suggest modifications, not bash sessions.  Or otherwise I will help modify the rules, and participate as the captain of the ToH team (what a disaster that would be hahahaaa)

so, Jinxer's cup is totally out of the question, that could lower the interest .
A decent turn , where to say you made some significant moves, lasts over 20 min., it's not a rule, but could occur pretty often making the other player, weaker regarding the patience point of view , to cry rivers and rivers of tears and become very annoying.
maybe if you can recalibrate the time limit, the Council work will be easier
only a thought.
