To win against the computer is very easy (even on impossible) once you get used to the way the computer plays.
I admit it may take me a few games to get used to online play but i will quickly learn the style.
After all just because i have never played online before it doesn't make me a bad player.

very sorry sleipner, was in no way tryuing to demean your skills at homm3, i was very drunk the night i posted that and it wasn't so much what you said that made me laugh,as how much it totally reminded me of me when i first started playing online as it prob did everybody else who's ever played online. Well maybe not everybody, there were a few of us who started playing the game online when it first came out. The TOH vets pretty much created the strategies still used by players today. So maybe it didn't remind me of me after all, it reminded me of me when i started playin homm 2 online, that's it!!!

Is online play really that different. plus are their any arranged tournamnets that take place where people are ranked based on their performance?

I've now signed up at wwheroes.com.
Are these games still played on zone.com then reported in? At the moment i can't seem to get any kind of game (either because private password or don't yet know rules)
Plus does anyone know where i can find a list of the different rules players set?
(i'm sorry if this is off-topic on this tread or if veteran players are bored with neebies requesting assistance but please help me some more - i'll be worth the effort once i start playing)

When you have registered on zone.com and have installed Homm on your PC, you can enter the Homm-portal on the zone. There youŽll find a "chatroom", where all the players talk to each other. Go there and ask all the questions you want, normaly they will answer you (so they did it with me...).....if you ask friendly..

Thanks, i have been that far - i guess i'll have to try some more. Still it is a bit difficult for any newcomers to start playing isn't it.
