I heard a rumor on the zone today that vesuvius will be charging a membership fee for entering toh...to this date i have heard nothing about such a thing.
please,tell us ves that this is just a rumor!

Five or ten bucks to enter the best run heroes tourney site that there ever has been.....I dont see that as such a big deal. Problem is you would get people not playing because they have no payment methods. But that is far from unreasonable...from Ves' perspective, maybe even overdue.
No idea on the truth of it though.

Well first of all I agree with Rychenroller in both cases. I don't think it would be unreasonable to charge a small fee. Especially as I know the new dual system has again cost him a good chunk of change. BUT I also think you would lose many that have no way of making payment. However, I think the point is kind a moot. Now I can't say that I know what Ves is thinking or not, but I can say that he has not mentioned anything in any of our recent discussions about the new season about charging a fee. He has had me going through and afixing new veteran icons. He has a new dual Homm3/Homm4 system all worked out. I have seen some of the basic pages, including the new registration page and there is nothing there about a fee either so I think it is safe to assume that it is just a rumor. I will seek confirmation however.

And that, my friends, is why ToH is what it is today. Vesuvius, if you ever decide to leave ToH then I will withdraw my membership on the spot. As I understand that ToH is an international phenomenon, logic would suggest that many others would agree with me.
All hail the true emperor.....dictator of the benevolent senate....fair and just...truly an admirable ruler of this tournament for the honor of all.

hmm.. I'm sorry but I really can't pay that fee... heh my wage is 40$/month how would I be able to spend 5-10$ for the game? it would sux BIG BIG TIME if that will happen..
anyway I understand Rychen that for you's not a prob, but for others like me it sure is.
keep it clean and nice as it was before..

You misunderstand Wand....Ves said it isnt happening. I just thought it would be a good idea and I wouldnt have a prob paying a very small fee for such a great tourney.
so relax...isnt going to happen as Ves says. And I like others, am relieved about it.

Well Ves and I talked about this whole thing a bit last night after I notified him of the thread so he could respond. He has never even considered charging for the tournament. Would he take donations, of course, just about any tourney coordinator would, but he would turn those around into prizes most likely. But it is our guess that the rumor was started by someone that is not that happy about the new United tournament that is trying to hurt the new season before we even get started. I'm not at all sure who that would be, and to be honest, it doesn't really matter. All that matters is that you players all know that there is no intention, nor was there ever any intention, to charge a feee.
