I'm not sure if this is following the rules, as I understood it you would have to be tagged/asked before you may ask a question yourself.
No matter I will answer your question, or rather, Golaw will answer your question. You see he wrote you a letter and here it is:
"Dear mister Dwarven Lucky. You might think your luck has run out for asking me this inpudence question. You see, when I first joined the Golden Gauntlet guild of thiefs it was custom to use codenames, or nicknames if you like. And...well..you see, my original suggestion on names as; "Saviour-of-the-gold-and-world" or "Überest-hat-of-times" where for some reason not accepted. Instead, they called me "Man-with-to-many-ridicolous-names". As you can see quite clearly. The name was not so very catchy, but I went with it...for awhile.
It was first when I had started making a name for myself that the guild leaders decided to switch my nickname to something more catchy. Again I gave my two suggestions and again they were declined. Instead, they thought of the name "Golaw" made up of the two words "Gold" and "Claw"...or so they said. I accepted the name, not because it was especially stylish, but...it worked. Or so I thought. You see, it comes a time when one decides to change market, or hunting ground if you like, and I decided to travel to other guild houses of my guild around the world. It was then that I learned of the way my colleagues humored themselves about what my name was. Many actually thought that it was a reference to me being a so incompetent thief, that the guild leaders had decided to call me the name "Go-law". Needless to say I slaugthered all who I ever heard daring to spot my nickname, as I had grown both quite attached and proud of it. Ironically that act supported people to call me "Go-law", as it turned out the thiefs I slaugthered where amongst the greatest scumbags in their territory, all of them being quite evil anlinged *rolls eyes*
Now, you got your answer, so speak of it no further. And I warn you now. If our two paths should ever come to cross, I will kill you to make sure this information is not spread.

Purpose:
The purpose of this thread is to help everyone develop their character better by asking and answering questions about them.

Durok sat down with a sad face and held what was left of his right arm with his left one.
"Me hand... Before now, much before now me be hunter in tribe. Me good hunter. Strong. Me and others go hunt. Men find us. Bad men with swords. Hunters fight bad men. Me fight too. One man come from side and cut me hand off... Hunters kill men, but me now have one hand. Tribe says: Durok lost hunting hand. Durok no strong now. Durok no smart too. Tribe no need Durok. Durok leave. So me leave tribe. Live in woods much time. Alone..."
You can clearly see pain on the poor orc's face, but you're not quite sure what's causing it - the sadness of the past or the need to say so much in one go. Suddenly, Durok raises his head and once again a smile appears on his face.
"But now me find new tribe. Small tribe. Me strong again. One hand now hunting hand. Me fight for new tribe!"

Ifran gets teleported into the room. It sat down and started smoking a pipe.
"You want to know Ifran's opinion on quest? Well, it seems like the quest we have at the movement is to find some band of thiefs. It's alot of eeeeeevil in that. Thiefs are after all, trouble makers for the hero races, and anything that will terrorize the hero races is good in Ifran's book."
Ifran looked up gleefully.
Of course, Ifran hopes that in the future, we will start causing chaos, terror and destruction for the hero races. But most of it is probally wishful thinking...Our group might be able to wreck some small farms and villages, but if we ever get that far then we are doomed to get heroes on our tails. But heroes won't stop Ifran, ohh no, not this time! This time, Ifran will give up and run away. This time Ifran will fight! Ifran will fight em on the beaches, Ifran shall fight them on the landing grounds, Ifran shall fight in the fields and in the streets, Ifran shall fight in the hills; Ifran shall never surrender! Not This time!"
Ifran's fierce face now softened, and it jumped down from the rock he had jumped on and sat down on it again. It faced the audience once more and its face was filled with dreams and hope
"But who knows, Ifran does not for sure, so maybe...just maybe, would our great accomplishment show the others. That there is nothing to fear and that we might once more raise to dominate and rule. With or without the masters! After all, what should the hero races do? Kill us? HAH! It's not like we had a life worth living before anyway! Yes, my friend, the future is filled with dreams and surprises."
Ifran then bowed its head before getting teleported back to the underdogs RP.

"You know, kiddo, like most members of the guild, I wasn't exactly born in the most fortunate of circumstances. You see, I was born and raised by some old grannies in the Southern Federation. Now, I didn't exctly have the complexion of the region, nor was I built like them. I knew their language of course and somehow I also spoke the language of the elves. Later on, as a footpad, I learned the common language. now, there's always been this question in my head I couldn't quell: who put me here? You see, I on't know, really. I'm not exactly an elf, but not a human either, also not one of the humans that lived in the south either way. I learned this when people around me seemed to grow faster than me. I'm about 97, now and I hardly look like I'm in my thirties. Anyway, why I quit the guild. Well, I pretty much didn't want to stay in the Southern Federation and I also wanted to find out the mystery around my birth, so i decided to pick up and leave. My old mentor aloowed this release of the guild, even though I owed it my life.
I journeyed towards the elven lands, because I figured that's where I could start my search. I didn't have much to go by, except for a name: "Esbara." I figured my mother would have died and my father would have gone orgue, since hlaf-breeds are frowned upon. Elves don't go with humans, unless it's smething not very serious. They don't connect well with humans, something I know very well. So I didn't even bother trying to figure where my mother was, since she could be anywhere. So I went to the elven lands, a place where the Guild had no place and I would never be able to travel there as a guildsman. It also was a good way to distance myself from my partner who came too close to me. In short: the guild stood in the way of what I wanted in life. I figure that my parents probably didn't care too much for me, but I just need to know."
LD what do you plan on doing if you got one of the armaments and the money?

At this Huld chuckled in the dim light of the tavern. Laying the pipe he was holding aside he looked at the bold traveler.
"My dear friend, what you must understand is that i never set out to find the Armaments, I am a mere soldier in a greater war. What i came here to do, what i intended was, to learn of this new land. The war with the relentless tide of orcs gave no time for exploring when we needed all our efforts back here." Huld pointed at a section of the map that has not yet been drawn.
"I am probably the first half-ling here in a century. Why? Because if it were any other way we would have been trampled by the orcs long before i had first drawn breath."
Huld leans back to stare at the ceiling thinking of what to say next.
"If i had one of these Armaments im not sure what i would do with them, it would certainly look good on my trophy rack, as for the money i could always buy war supplies with it, theres not much use for it, maybe with an army of mercenaries i could end some wars..."
Huld leans back on his chair and puffs a few more smoke rings.
"So what brings you here Kyiamera ma girl? Why be a ranger and try to find historical immortality? Why not be a general of an army to lead others into battle and then become queen of your own little nation?"

Kiyamera sat down and with a glass of firewine which she started to drink from.
"I take it you meant why I chose to be a ranger when I pursue historical immortality instead of becoming a general and a queen. Well there is a few reasons to that:"
Kiyamera gently laid down the glass before started couting on her fingers.
"First of all you need education in tactics. Not that I couldn't have gotten it, but it ain't so cheap. And tactics is not always something that can be taught as easily as learning how to read.
Secondly it would have recuired an army, and a army would cost money. Even if I emptied my fathers treasury I would not be able to get hundreds of legions on the foot, but I would have gotten a conciderable bunch of warriors which I could have used to secure new treasures to pay them with. Of course, my father did not like the idea of becoming a general and wasting his hard earned gold on a "risky gamble". He even threaten to take my heritage from me! FROM ME! That old grumpy badger! I will laugh when he is six feet under. If he ever get so far, he is a stuborn old snow in that aspect...
Now, even when the establishing a army trouble is over, the third problem arrises; one needs opportunities to rise and shine. In other words, you need wars. Wars are sometimes hard to come by unless you declare your own nation and start them yourself. But the other countries have a habbit of striking down those who try. This is all a problem, even if it is not the biggest one, and for a person such as myself, it would probally be quite easy.
The fourth problem is the biggest danger about an army is the "gamle" with it. How often is it not that you hear the legends, tales and myths about the "soldier" instead of the "general", hmm? Have you ever thought about that little dwarf? Even when I am a great powerful general, leader or queen, there is the danger of having a real hero in the army, who gets more known that me.
And besides we have the fifth problem which is that when I eventually become queen, I would have to some very great things for the people to be written down as a good queen. And doing great conquests would not be as easy as when I was a mere general, as I would be even further away from the front lines. Not really the easiest thing in the world is there?
The sixth and final reason that made me become an adventurer instead of a general, is that the tales told about adventureres and heroes are so much more sung and sounds so much greater than those sung about queens, kings and generals, don't you agree? Therefore I chose to become a ranger instead of a general...
Well, that and the thing about my dad being a snow! Now, if you'll excuse me there are plenty of adventures just waiting to be done and heroic deeds that need my immidiate focus."
