Tough Israel:(

picture this:
"an old man, numb from neck to sandals, is rolling slowly down the dustfilled alley in palstine.
he humms a song; Fly me too the moon, and let me playyyyy amongst the stars.. as he finishes the line, he hears choppers coming up behind him.
he knows they are after him, people starts screaming and running, leaving the poor old man behind.
He takes up his escape, making his wheelchair rolling at an immense speed for someone at his age.
its useless...
he looks back, over his shoulder, sees the chopper taking aim, hears the "shhhhh" sound of an anti-personnel rocket leaving its tube..
he freezes. the wheelchair is suddely hurled up into the air, molesting, and instantly killing this Utterly evil, twisted minded terrorist.
The israelians celebrate theyr glorius victory (LOL)
and the palestinians bury the corpse in a hurry."

THAT, my friends, is not glory.
Those Chopper pilots, i wonder what they think!
sure, he was a man fighting for his beliefs, AKA terrorist, but that was inceribly cowardly!

Dont u think so????

i am NOT a rist, i am NOT trying to say that i dont like saudi arabians and stuff, im just saying; TERRORISM IS  a cruel thing! im trying to make clear, that  the terrorist also have feelings, for an example, when this terrorist leader was killed.
people are fighting terrorism at  the wrong front! there is a reason why it is terrorism, and killing islamic people wont help!

please, nobody get offended, im not trying to do that!

If Israel deliberately chooses violent reactions that might cause an outburst of terrorism, then by extension it very much is a threat to other countries in that respect. Whilst I in no way will mourn for that scumbag who promoted suicide bombings against innocent people, I tend to think that the Israeli situation is a little less clear cut than a perfect Israel being bombed by terrorists who have no reason to do so. Whilst the mindset of Palestinians as an ethnic group may be unlike those of us in the west in many ways, I somehow doubt that so many people would willingly die for a cause they do not believe in deeply. To believe in such a cause of hatred requires usually some personal reason for the hatred.

I do think that the Muslim religious leaders should condemn the violence on both sides wholeheartedly though. Then again, on the day after Madrid, people here asked why the Muslim Council of Great Britain did not condemn the attacks. The truth is they did (and had a press release to prove it) but almost no papers bothered to publish it, and no news channel I saw ever mentioned it. Sometimes I get the feeling that the press here don't tell the full story about the Muslim opinion on the attacks, they'd rather tell us about palestinians firing guns into the air in defiance or Iraquis rioting and throwing petrol bombs at British troops. Somehow, to the media, the other side isn't so important...

I'm not going to participate in this discussion, simply because we already had a very similar one and I see no point in restating everything I already said. Just this one thing:

Terrorism and freedom fighting is not all that different. From Discworld: "Demons have existed on the Discworld for at least as long as the gods, whom in many cases they closely resemble. The difference is basically the same as that between terrorists and freedom fighters."

A "freedom fighter" is nothing but another name for a terrorist. Bin Laden is very certain that he is fighting against opression by the US. What about these groups in Africa who invade innocent villages and kill civilians in their attempt to overthrough the democratic government? Are they not "freedom fighters"? Sure they are, but it doesn't make what they do any better. If you think it does, please explain it to the families of those killed by these "freedom fighters". I sure as hell can't.

Israel is trying to eliminate the terrorist leaders, not the general Palestinian public. The terrorists, on the other hand, target only civilians - Fighting for the freedom of their country by murdering hundreds of innocents.

According to some definitions of terrorism in International Law:
Terrorism is any act aimed to cause a state of fear in the general public opinion, in pursue of political goals. Or something like that, I'm paraphrasing here.

Freedom Fighting, imo, is a subjective view of the matter.
However, I personally, find a struggle legitimate and fair only when the target is the regualar army, not civilians, not non-military objects. But even if terrorists fight for something, that automatically doesn't mean that their cause isn't right. It's the way they are doing it what bothers me.

Anyway...

I don't understand the Palestinians much when they complain about Israel.  The Palestinian terrorist/militia groups blow up a suicide bomber into a crowded restaurant or bus.  Then, when Israel retaliates by blowing one of their leaders away, the Palestinians look around and complain like the attack was totally unprovoked.  I just don't get it.
It's like a joke.

No person will ever convince me of the cause they fight for when they look to kill without prejudice.

There is another word for human beings that kill without prejudice. It is, "murder".

If I ever find a terrorist I would die trying to kill him or her.

What cathegory would you count in Consis?

Just hold that rooster style, will ya. A terrorist is not necessarily a crazy frenzied juhad loonatic suicide bomber, as you imagine. Just read the deffinition and think what a wide range of "activities" it encompasses.
Do you beleive that women should have equal rights as man? I know you do. Now, let's imagine that there's this extreme feminist movement in Iraq (though highly unlikely, but what the hell) and they set a bomb in front of some building or smth. Does the fact itself that they are terrorists, mean that their cause is unjust? Is it unjust for women to have equal rights as men?

It depends on their methods, you know that.

That's why M.L.King Jr. and groups that followed his lead changed things in the US.  And the Black Panthers didn't.
