In an attempt to organize:
Text moved from New Mod?:
Apparently, this isn't obvious enough yet. I am not qualified to mod on my own. [personal junk] My emotional state is not stable, and I'm deeply torn about applying for any mod responsibilities. The ability to retreat, temporarily or (possibly) permanently, is very important to me. [/personal junk] If this is a solo job, I'm out. Period.
On the other hand, I'd be happy to work with Wolfman. Aside from what's already been said on his behalf both here and in the other thread: he tends to keep a closer eye on the current events threads, while I read the religious threads, and we both like history threads. There is also the ideological aspect that seems to be quite important to some, and I think he's the only conservative person nominated. Two mods doesn't seem like overkill to me.
More:
Bort's omission from the poll is a serious flaw. He'd make a great mod. While I would love working with Bort , that would mean two liberal mods. That seems to bug people. I stick to my above opinion re: ideology, but Peacemaker brings up a good point about legitimacy, and if there are "too many" liberal mods, that could undermine perceived legitimacy. Wolfman appears to be the only conservative serious nominee, and he has also taken the most initiative (he e-mailed Val a month ago? Wow!).
Completely off topic:

Edit: Hmm, Peacemaker got to the double-liberal point first.

Well, if you ask me, quality of "modding" should be more important than filling some consrevative quotas (which dont have the percent needed for 1 mod anyway, btw ). A mod can still be objective, even if he/she doesn't agree with what's said. Such a charachter is Khaelo, I beleive.
But on the other hand, seeing that bort isn't around often as I'd like to, Wolfie can be a good person for the job.
Although if I had to choose between them, I'd pick bort. But I can be happy with Wolfie too as the big guy around here.

But in communism...that 1% would mean 50% because everything must be equal.
An stop calling me Wolfie, thank you so much.

Quote: But in communism...that 1% would mean 50% because everything must be equal.
But I thought this was democracy.
So, if becoming a mod is only possible for you in communism, would you go for a revolution then?

Oh god Wolfman. I think I was the one that started the "Wolfie" thing. I'm sorry.
I have this terrible and annoying personality quirk of nicknaming everyone I know. It annoys all my friends as well.
So sorry about that!

Svarog: We're not looking for "quotas" here and that's not my intention. If you can't recognize a bias going on in Other Side then you're just a prime example of what I'm talking about. Many others cannot either. The way to avoid "quotas" is to have everyone represented. WE ALREADY HAVE "QUOTAS" going on in favor of liberalism. Why is that so hard to understand???
EDIT: Sorry if I'm getting a little irritated here. It's just that it seems like people are overlooking, or being flat-out blind to, what I believe is a very valid and important point about fairness and objectivity in this particular forum.

Peacemaker: Bias? We have bias in the other side? We are liberals, open-minded, you know! We can't be biased!
Serious though. I don't think that there is bias at all in the forum. Outnumbered - sure they are, but it isn't bias to defend your opinion. I for one, as much as I don't agree with someone, can recognize a well structured opinion when I see one. That's not bias, although I can still keep dissagreeing. And that's how a mod's supposed to be, no matter what he/she thinks personally.
I'd say a quality post from those that you don't agree with, would be the one that would make you ask yourself some questions or make you think for a while about the counter-answer to that argument.
Another hint: It's always long.

Hmm... there's no other thread than this to welcome the new mods? Anyway, congratulations Wolfman and Khaelo in becoming a moderator!
I hope this doesn't mean you both lose your taste to make and write new posts for that would truly be a loss. But have fun moderating! ...and let thy broom be thou ultimate weapon, not the blade
