Why dont we try something radical. Boot all the mods who do nothing and replace them with members who are active and are willing to help the community. I vote Stiven for tavern mod. Been here a long time, can be helpful when he wants to, and he IS active.

I agree with RSF. Dingo actually would make a good mod. He may spam a lot, but see Lich_King. He spammed a lot too, but was he a bad mod? No. RMS spammed a lot, but never used his moderator powers, making him a bad mod. They should make a test for mods. They should make anyone who wants to be a mod, a mod, but they have to give a QP, a -QP, delete several threads and posts, and suggest a change for the better for HC, all in one week. If they can do so, they should stay as mods. If they cannot, then boot them after a week.

If all mods are booted, here are my votes.
Tournament of Honor- Jinxer, Vesuvius, Balcough_Dragons.
Wake of Gods- Treupp, KittenAngel, Gangrail.
Tavern of the Rising Sun- RedSoxFan3, Dingo, Sir_Stiven, Lord_Woock.
Lands of Axeoth- ThE_HyDrA, Djive.
Library of Enlightenment- Gimmickless, Wub.
MapHaven Guild- Blue_Camel, Laeth.
Heroes 5 Altar of Wishes- Djive, ThE_HyDrA, Gerdash.
Bard's Glade Pyre (RPG)- RedSoxFan3, Vadskye91, Consis, Mvassilev.
Other Side of the Monitor- Khaelo, Wolfman, PrivateHudson.
Volcanic Wastelands- Lich_King, RedSoxFan3, Mvassilev, 2Xtreme2Take, Dingo, Lord_Woock.
Turban Tribunal- Djive.

All that in one week?
There would be no HC left.

This whole thing has got me so down I wrote to Val and applied for the modsquad.
Maybe if there were more active Tavern Mods people wouldn't see RSF as such a bad guy.

Hmmm Mvass... I think I need to remind you, that I'm longer then you, and my postcount don't show, that I have spammed alot. Besides, I'm not quite tended to spam. Now about mods... Would you think, I would work with Woock, 2X, Dingo and you ? LOL Besides, the only place, I would ever return is Lands of Axeoth, since Homm4 reamains game Nr.1 to me.

Now on Topic, from my personal experience and view, there are very few people, who could be good mods, not to be one sided and have favorites. Sad, but only few from the list could run this job.

I think that Tavernsquad should be changed too. Too many inactive mods and some, who have no moral right to be ones.

If Hexa and LM would be willing to return, they could remain, also RSF should stay there too. Pan is good choice for Tavern IMO, So is Asmodean. 3 active mods are enough for the Tavern.

Well, as I've said I agree that Redsox should stay. He's a good mod, I personally am not 'pro' deleting posts - but I can understand his logic in why he did. More importantly I know that he did not do it because he didn't like certain posters, or because some posts didn't suit his sense of humour. He deleted the posts that he thought were damaging to the thread - his motivation was not some 'power kick' as he's been accused of here, but simply that he wanted to make an improvement - and that is definately something we need to see more of from our mods.

No, I'm not saying we need to see more posts being deleted I'm saying we need to see more effort going into making this place what everyone dreams it should be. From day 1 as a mod Redsox has demonstrated that he wants to do just that. It's frustrating to see that people will jump at any chance to cry foul and scream about what they think he shouldn't have done, but those people won't make a constructive effort and offer suggestions as to what should be done.

the thread topic changed... RSF wrote with childish behavior that he will delete posts and he is sorry if he ll delete some good ones... a good mod MUST act like normal posters and do his job without using his capability... he can delete spams and say nothing but he acted like a boy and started his one man show ... i didnt want from him do delete offtopic posts from my thread never will be

... pls dont change the subject of the thread... RSF can stay mod i dont have problem with him but he should apologise first to continue to carry his moderator responsability...

I do understand your point Hamsi, that as the thread creator you don't wish to have posts deleted, fair enough. But my point is that I don't believe his intention was to be damaging in any way - I think he was trying to help.

Personally, I looked in the TT several times and after seeing a few pages of stuff that looked liked it belonged in volcanic wastelands i just left... that was a lot of spam! Maybe others complained to Redsox? i dunno.. I just think that this thread was handled poorly (sorry Acu), and rather than see it is a legit complaint about specific actions - I see it more as an attack on Redsox and I think that's unfair.

That said, see ya'll in the tavern, beer's on me

I Disagree

I agree with hamsi128. He and Aculias have provided good evidence. Their argument was justified and RedSoxFan3 has also admitted he does not want to be Tavern Moderator anymore. Let's leave it to the way it should be. RedSoxFan3 is the best damn Moderator to ever set foot in the Bard's Glade Pyre. Let's support him to this end and be thankful for his unmatchable service to this community in that regard.

Let bye-gones be bye-gones(and sleeping dogs lay where they are).

Redsox doesn't want to be a mod, because he doesn't get any support, only flames and complains. And you know why ? Because he is the one WHO mods tavern at all ! And because he does something to improve situation, he gets the complains from "whine all time" members. And I would recomend to read this thread again, Consis. Most members are encouraging him to stay, because they see, that he does a good job. All he needs is additional, active and unbased moderators. Then he would be able to discuss and decide which posts are spam, flame, where he should send it and what to do with them, if he is not certain.

Not really, Aculias. It can also help us keep everything organized and help us keep track of old threads. I see it as an opportunity to use it as some bookkeeping for older threads.

Edit: Okay one final note. First off everyone knows that there WAS a problem with spam in Tossers Tavern. Denying it would be absolutely ridiculous. Secondly, it's interested how some people only speak up after the fact with every criticism on my action, but couldn't come up with a constructive thing to say if they took a billion years. It reminds me of all the people that over-analyze literature. They can point out billions of problems in every book they read, but never write anything up to their expections themselves. To coin the phrase it's a 'toss,' otherwise known as talking a bunch of BS with nothing to back it up.

RSF noone told you that you abuse power with deleting posts... you can delete spams or posts whatever you want... we are !!complaining!! about your way to do your job... you acted like a new teacher who needs to proove himself to the students... do your job and dont write unfortunate comments like '' i ll erase spams soon and sorry if i delete some good ones '' etc...

RSF, Hamsi, in nutshell I think you are both right and both wrong. RSF you are right there WAS a spam problem and it DID need dealt with. I realize the comments you made about it beforehand were probably not taken the way you intended them but I agree with Hamsi in that it is very easy for them to be taken wrong. If you don't read them in a contest of humor, they definitely seem well grumpy. However, Hamsi, he WAS criticized for actually deleting the spam, not just for the way he stated things. Not by you but by ... others. Now, I think to prevent this sort of thing it would maybe be better if you didn't make those sort of comments before you do thread cleaning. Just a simple "Thread cleaned" or something similar but without the type of thing that can be taken wrong because rule of thumb is that if it CAN be taken wrong, it WILL be taken wrong, by someone.
