I think it's a bit of a shame that no one is really addressing Redsox's complaints here, as I think they're all valid.
I mean, its great that people are wishing Redsox well, or asking him not to leave - I think he really deserves the support he's getting but why don't we actually address the problems?
We have a stickied thread here where we can help with our complaints and suggestions for the tavern - why not use it? It seems like all we do at every turn is try to put up new walls between different 'groups'
I think to make the tavern better step one should be to tear down the 'wall' between the members and the mods. Use that thread, tell the mods what you think would make the tavern better. Tell them when you think there's a problem, a community works when people are working together - not against each other.
It just aggrivates the heck out of me to see that all this is going on (again) and its always the same song and dance over and over. it doesnt matter who the mod is, or what the mod does - people will jump up and attack mods anytime things aren't going the way they think things should go. The funny thing is that the mods don't know how you think things should go, cuz you won't tell them, you'll put them down and complain your hearts out once things have gotten so bad that you're just shouting into the wind anyways... but nobody is willing to look at themselves and take the blame for what they're doing to mess things up and make that change.
I agree with Redsox in that the division between posters has gotten to be too much, i mean come on - don't we all want the same thing? For the community to remain here and remain strong? I've been coming here for ages now, and I love that I can look back and see all that history is still here - and I really hope that years from now I can still come and find the HC is still strong, and I think that can easily be the case if we just all make a few changes to make things better.
PS: to Trogdor, what exactly do you think deleting Tosser's Tavern would accomplish? was that a joke, or do you have some sort of point you'd like to make?

I think that more people care than you think, the trick is just getting those people to speak up...
I also think that some of the people that like to stir things up may be trying in their own way to do something positive, its just backfiring.

correct me if im wrong, but i have a feeling that whenever i critise a moderator i always adress a problem (IMO) and a possible solution?
its not like i go "hey RSF, you are an idiot".
now i offcourse dont think that, but IMO there is a difference.
Also when accepting a position like a moderator you must understand that you will recieve critism, some people will dislike you and some really like you..thats just a part of it.
And if we put this at a place where you are not allowed to speak your mind in a bad way about moderators we dont have a messageboard anymore..then we have a mind controling board.
IMO the reason why all of this has been so blown up now is because all focus has been on RSF because he has been the only active tavern moderator.
But RSF has my support and many with me, and the problem here as stated before IMO has never been RSF being a general bad mod but the lack of action from the other mods in tavern.

maybe so put "people" here has a tendency to include me...
add to that "stir up" and i bet 9 outta 10 people would name me
but you are correct, we do play it straight with each other.. but in occations like this i would prefer you calling it "some people", aculias and some more or if you wanna be nice.. "aculiastic people"

I agree & disagree because everyones different on here Sox.
I am actually one that cares about HC even tho I may not always had a positive actions with some of the recent issues.
I seen too much in here to know that alot of people in HC dont care about the other people in here.
Backstabberts, ganging up on the others etc.
Modbashing.
