yeah, if writing a letter is a suggestion, then u dont know my parents. They're very stubborn. They think they're right ALL the time and if they're not, they get very very angry and wont admit it. So either way, it wouldn't work.

There was a thing going on in my family where my sister had told me how much my parents dislike me, and my parents had proved her right, so I questioned myself if they wanted me anymore. I tried talking to them about it, a serious discussion, but my parents started joking about my arguments and it felt like they just slapped it back in my face. They always try to make me feel bad, by calling me names and making fun of me because of my friends, the way I live, basically anything that'll hurt me. But sometimes it looks as if they really love me. Somedays I'll be so happy that my parents love me. But sometimes it hurts.

I know it all sounds like I'm overreacting and being oversensative, and that may be true at some parts, but when I feel unwanted in my own house and my parents have kind of proved that point, it gets to a point where I cant take it anymore.

The whole shizz

Draco - i can't, because while i was in the wheelchair, i took on the weight(i was actually thin to start with) and being large, doesn't help either.

Back 2 the parents:

Once my parents wouldn't let me go to a party. What did i do?

2 things.
1: Hunger strike. Yay!
2: i still seemed happy.

They were so confused over this mix, that they told me i could go, because that they were fearing that i might become a "loner" - And the fact that i didn't eat anything - so thats how i handled my partying problems.

A chubby boy threatening with hunger strike? If I were your parents it would be no parties for the next 2 weeks mister and you'd be as slim as Twigie in no time.

LOL. How often do you see overweight people in hospital feeding with needles?

A little biology lesson: The undesired tissue of fat that we have actually serves as food reserves for the body. A man is well off until they have still fat in store. Once the reserves are depleted then you can go to the hospital. Or the cemetary.

the writing a letter post was to Ruby, and more to Ruby:

Don't worry about if you seem over sensitive, you're expressing how you feel and feelings are never wrong; they just are.

It is a very sad thing to hear that a young girl feels unwanted in her own home. Regardless of if that's the case or not, just that you feel that way is enough to be concerned.

When you say your parents make fun of you and say things to hurt you, i think that's terrible
I wish i had some easy fix to tell you, or some advice that's not cliche.

Do you have any adult friends/aunts/uncles that both you and your parents trust that you could speak with? Maybe they would be better able to convey what you're feeling in a way that will make your parents listen?

I don't know for sure if it's the case, but is there a chance that your parents simply don't realize that you're being hurt? From your posts you sound like you are a tuff young girl, very asseritive and independant - now if that's the case, maybe your parents feel that "you can handle" the teasing, and are not being as mean spirited as you think?

Sometimes the stronger child is the one that's slighted, the parents believe that they don't need the same attention or affection. Again, I don't know if that's the case, but is it a possibility?

I know that my parents love me very much, but they aren't showing it. One day they can just run up to me and give me a hug and it makes me so happy. But other times they just get pissed at whatever I do. I was frikcin holding my fork and knife wrong and my dad had a spas attack. See, I just cant take them nagging at me for the stupidest reasons, so I talk back a lot now. I bet I shouldn't then.

It sounds to me like a very normal family relationship hehe!

Parents will always find a way to make a teen mad, and vice versa The relationship between parents and their kids changes in some ways as the kids get older, it sounds like maybe you're all just going through that.

The more defensive you get and the more backtalk you do, the more annoyed they will be - you have to expect that.

I think the best advice to you is that you remember they are your parents, even if you're growing up and becoming more independant. If you treat them respectfully and show them how mature you are now - they will in turn treat you better as well If they see you as being insolent and disrespectful they are more likely to be harder on you.

Just remember that some days are going to be harder than others, but no matter what your parents love you

It seems to me that RD's parents spoil the hell outta him, letting him have his way because of a little temper tantrum. All I can say is he's lucky he didn't have MY parents. I can garuntee him that his situation would be quite different. It definatly wouldn't be getting his way. He'd either eat or he'd starve himself to death. And it's only common sense that when the human body is hungry enough and there's food around it's going to feed itself. I'm positive you'd agree to any circumstances for a tasty morsal of chocolate cake or even a carrot stick if you'd starve yourself for a week or so.

well, its hard to say, i mean if my son almost had his legs lost, i would probably start to spoil him, especialy if he was a only child (are you?). But ya a hunger strike wouldnt work for me either what they would say would probably be around the lines of (oh well, more food for me) or (thatl save me some money when i goto the grocery store)

I found, although it makes me look like a wimp that the best way to act with your parents is to be very diplomatic, or understanding. if you never raise your voice to them, its very hard for a parent to raise their voices at you.

How old are you Ruby anyways? are you over 16? do you have a job, if so maybe you could move out for a couple months with a friend or someone, this should show your parents you dont appreciate how its going with them, also you will learn the difficult tasks they go through just to keep you happy, and full of food.

if your under 16 then its completely normal what your going through, lots of my friends went through the same thing. but at a certain age, they need to understand they cannot control you anymore. if your mature enough to bring it to their attention your goals, then they will most likely start to understand.

Uhm...well my parents dont agree with anything I do...see, when someone says something crappy to my friends they're gonna get what's comming to em, and it will (guaranteed) hurt. See...my parents dont believe in violence. They made me rip up one of my books that I had written, because they thought it was "evil." Then, all my drawings and paintings were also ripped up because they were "demonic."

Tell your parents that they are evil and demonic, and if they don't accept the abundant existance of violence, tell them they're stupid too. It would also help to draw a 5-minute picture of 2 stick people- label them "Mom and Dad"- draw an arrow and draw 2 demons. Label it "The truth about my parents".

You've never been grounded???? whoa. I gonna have to disagree with Pirahna, My parents don't care what I listen to (I listen to music that screams profanities all day) or watch (except for basic instinct, but thats practically a porno) and my mom is very aware of the fact that it's not the 60's
