OLD maps - NEW maps ?

if you DO believe that will make you pleasure replaying some good ol' maps with a completelly new look, please post here your suggestions.

There are few of us who wants to make them again attractive , or to revive them, considering the MOD changes, and your suggestions are welcome and very helpful.
This way we can save time that could be wasted otherwise, if the maps reshaped are no longer interesting for you, the PLAYERS.

Any opinion that could improve quality of maps (pls be specific here with the name of the map), or bugs that you encountered should be listed in here.

Well, getting some "old" H2/3 maps for HoMM4 is good, imo.
I like replaying the old maps with the new game
It would be nice to have some of this old maps available

Circle for Life   v1.4

-  Need the green guards to be changed to a garrison of same army that oppoenent controls during that battle to break.

-  Eliminate the Steal opponents gold mine and relic aspects of map. More Balanced......

 Yes,i once did that with circle for a fun game with a friend,and it slowed progress down somewhat when green army is now controlled by opponent.he tried to rush through and took many losses.gave it a bit more of an edge when trying to break also,as fight was no longer as easy as once was

Nice post Teach, I think remaking old maps is just what we need now! aspecially maps like circle..

I believe a decent map could be made of plains for example.. adding a few quests... fixing the guards etc... much can be done.. ill be waiting

I don't know what ideas have Teacher, but i think that maps upgrade must have two stages. First most imortant is making good balance. Second is fine turning and increase in tactics.
As i see you are speaking about Circle Of Life. I think first must be repaired all scrips (i'm thinking about it), then must be closed following skills: Charm, Resurection, Seamanship (inspite a piece of sea), Diplomacy. I think must be discussed Necromancy, Stealth and Summoning. One more Combat Altar infront of starting town. Other changers I'll tell next time

i think adding quests is a bad idea

reshaping should be restricted to eliminating bugs and side-effects(like a town very strong or very weak), enriching map so it has better flaw and be more interesting, adding some move modifiers and roads at point where game is 'lagging'

one must work as a doctor not paint again on a colored canvas.. unless is completely confident on an idea

aand, ofcourse, original map will stay, and new one be renamed. something like Death Valley_2.0(modified by the_theteh)

Circle of life tricks:
1) Trick with bandits when host is chaos.
2) Red tent is free.
3) Gold mine stealing.
4) Moving out army from garrisons in corners, taking arts, and capture garrison after it will have color of opponent.
This tricks must be blocked.
Grand pathfinding is a key for victory and i think all alignments must have access to scouting.

totally ! when i played clan game as life i couldnt get gm path,despite taking scouting altar and converting to prophet immediately.definately seaman needs to  be disabled like cmeptb said,and possibly stealth too.path is too important a skill for some alignments to get and others not.

I hate to do it Insatiable, but I must disagree.  If a map is deemed needing to be remade or fixed for what ever reasons bugs or balance etc? Then it must replace the older version.  Just as DogDays2 replaced the older version.

1 of the main reasons is that the maps page is already saturated with too many maps as it is.  We dont need to double up on Version 2-3 or version 56 of the same map etc.

Original map maker must give 100% permission for such updates before they can happen.
