Hey!!

Quote: 'You must realise that your name is that of the most popular Drow, Ranger/Swordsman dark elf in all of Faerun'

I know this, and that is why i took the name in the first place. I am a great fan of Drizzit and the Forgotten Realms series. Your comment duely noted, but some people who were to call themselves Drizzit have spelt it wrong (All connotations not included)

I think Drizzit, that you are wrong in thinking that these people are spelling the name wrong because they lack the knowledge of how to properly spell it. When you see a name spelled incorrectly that way online, what it generally means is that the proper spelling has already been used by another person.

In the case of Drizzt, as Consis was pointing out - the character is so well loved that naturally there will be thousands of people who would choose this to be their nickname.

Ironically tho, you complain about people spelling the name incorrectly.. yet you've got it wrong!

The correct spelling is Drizzt Do'Urden

My high horse? I just thought it was funny, that's all.

And yep, I have read lots of your posts and see that you sign each one Drizzit Do'Urden, but I'm afraid I don't understand your point?

Is there a story behind why you've added an extra "I" to the name, or what? I really don't follow you now.

I'm sorry if you felt I was putting you down, that wasn't my intention...

Pandora Is Correct

Anyone who spells the name incorrectly does a great disservice to the creator of it, R.A. Salvatore. He has done a masterful job in the creation of the character known as, "Drizzt Do'Urden".

No matter where you go, you will find someone who greatly enjoys the character and talks about him as if he were synonymous with the fabled, "Lancelot". There is, however, a huge difference between these two fictional characters. Lancelot betrayed Arthur for Gwenivir while Drizzt betrayed his own inherently evil people for the side of good. He would not kill the child. The only one who knew, because of his unparalleled skilled swordsmanship, was Lolth, the spider queen herself. Lancelot was good and fell to a dark sin, while Drizzt was evil and chose to show compassion and mercy.

Please do not slander the name by spelling it incorrectly. It is a highly thought-of name that is now known to all forgotten realms fans as synonymous with the word hero. R.A. Salvatore deserves all the credit for this character. Let's not dishonor his genius by mispelling his most beloved character shall we?

Drizzit.. I really think we're having a failure to communicate here!

I am not meaning at all to be mocking, I just found it funny in an ironic kinda way, and I pointed that out

I too double-checked my books after your last reply, thinking maybe I was mistaken

No hard feelings eh? take care!

Ok so you were right, it is spelt DRIZZT DO'URDEN.

I am sorry for any inconviences i have caused! I just like the spelling of DRIZZIT as it like the IT sound in the name, this may have clouded me memory.
