Vesuvius in sever condition in the hospital
Actually its been several days now. They misdiagnosed that he had west nile virus(its from a mosquito bite)and by the time it was figured out its taken the life out of him. Hes got a strong will and strong heart though, I know he will pull through.
Just thought you guys should know.

ouch... dont know the guy personally at all but his an inspirational leader and seems to be a great person.

I'm so sorry to hear that he's ill, I'm sure he'll get better soon. I think he's too stubborn to be sick long

Problem is with all this misdiagnoses that are going on in American hospitals nowadays. My mom passed away because they misdiagnosed her chest pains as 'colds' and she had a fatal heart attack a week later. In Rob's case he would never have had to get to this critical level if they really knew what he had from the start. The antibiotics only weakened him more to let the virus take over more effectively.
Too much pressure/stress on doctors, too little money, too many new problems, I think our healthcare system is in serious trouble here in the US.
I don't remember how to do the updates on the main TOH pages so I guess I'll just post here as things improve.

I really hope he is better soon... its a terrible thing to know that it could have been avoided had they diagnosed it early enough.
Can't you get one of the Volunteers to help you out with updating the ToH site Mel? You shouldn't have to worry about that right now

Ves will get better, definitely, even if he lacks the will, there's hundreds of us willing for him (maybe not hundreds, but shh...)

I also lost some family in hospital for similar reasons as well.

Not only is health care quality declining in the US, but the nurses are getting uglier. Used to you when a doctor messed up you could depend on a good looking nurse to pull you through.

Med staff prolly knew Rob trained with Québécois mosquitos which are a lot worse. He will be fully healed from his west nile flu in no time.
