Can anyone reccomend a good FREE programme for sound recording?
In order to keep interest though - any requests?

OK, I'm in. I just got a mike from ebay for 1 cent do it was worth it!! 
So, how do we record a song with a mike? do you need a special programm?

Get a program from here http://www.tucows.com/audio_recorders_default.html and make sure that you choose one that can record MP3's. We don't to download large wav files. Most of these programs will not only make the files smaller, but also make a nice and clean recording without all the noise you get with the windows sound recorder.

Yeah, but while Svarog is a smart person, he's not exactly up to date when it comes to computers. A wav file is nearly impossible to download with dialup, and takes a while with cable/DSL. What's the point, when you can get the same quality on MP3?

Though the problem with ur programs is that they all cost money or are only for trial. Hence, good ol' Sound Recorder.

I went to 2cows and downloaded a programm but it has a 14 trial day period... is there a way to download a programm that has no trial?

Some of the programs there don't have trial periods. And of course, you could find cracks for those that have them.
Edit:
When my mic was working, I was using Audio Record Wizard. It doesn't expire and records quality mp3's with even the cheapest mic's.

Woock, for the mic part of your problem, you can get one on ebay for 1 cent like I did. Delivery was 2 bucks.

Uh huh. You don't suppose that the delivery thing could be a little bit more expensive for overseas customers?
