If it's money you want for an adult forum membership then you'll have ample supply. The entire adult industry is a gauranteed buck in your pocket. There is no question that people would pay for that.
The problem, as I see it, is greed. I lived in Las Vegas for over 6 years. I know from experience that porn/adult material is a gauranteed pay-off. I also understand that everybody has bills they need to pay; as well as other necessary expenses to maintain a decent living. But if you are already comfortable with your lifestyle then I beg you not to seek this approach. The money you gain via these means might not be as fulfilling as you think. And there is always the concern of wealth affecting your personal life. I've spoken to people who became obsessed with spending more time at the office to make extra dividends. They had nice cars, big house, and fancy clothing. But they weren't happy.
I have a lot of respect for you Valeriy. But none of my high regards for you have anything to do with money or wealth. I've read your personal page and I greatly respect your commitment to your own personal goals. I've read how much you valued genuine character over false pretenses. If that is who you really are then I have immense respect for you. It would be very sad to see you become a victim from such an easy source of money.

there is a solution that would keep Valeriy from making a usefull amount of money using credit cards and still use these credit cards to ensure age of consent. simply set the membership to 1$US (or even beter CDN) and have it life long membership.
I do know for a fact though, that If I were forced to pay anually for use of the forum, I would use it alot more there would be more incentive, so perhaps there would be more activity in the forums, we all know these forums need more activity.
I like the idea, as long as there isn't Sexual Advertisment. if I want to read up on sexual things, I'm not neccessarily gonna want porn popups flooding my screen. maybe I actually want to learn, odd as it may sound I do actually like reading up on the subject, without neccessarily video/pictures. plus if theres no popups I don't have to keep a eye out on who can see what im doin on the computer

The forum idea is not mainly for porn pictures. It's for when the n00bs want to learn a bit more than just how to play HOMM, or when the female members of HC feel like doing a bit of stripping after a long game

I'm not sure if that was directed at me or not, but I don't think this section would be used simply as a porn forums. in fact I was under the impression it would be the same as the rest simply uncessored. I wouldnt be using it to get my jollies but some of the emails i get are pretty funny that I can't share here, and im not about to start forwarding to unexpecting HC members .
I have to agree with you though Consis, there is a dangerous line that we are approching, but if we play our cards right, no-one needs to get hurt.
This is a rating system I came up with on another forum that we found quite usefull (it was actually for the jokes section but could easily be adapted), it requires alot of attention on the part of moderators though. or I guess theoretically you could set a rating yourself when you create a thread and if anyone posts with material thats not appropriate it would be removed.
A- Acceptable for work
B- snowin but not so good for work
C- Children beware!!
D- Dont f*****g read this if you are under 35. your too immature
E- every f*****g b***h w***e swear is used. c*** f****g penis l****r.
F- Flash (required macromedia or other flash program)
J- Java (requires sun java or other java program)
L- Linked
M- Music (MP3 or Wav ect.)
V- Video AVI or Mpeg ect.
Something to think about.

I really don't have an issue with the idea of an adult forum, in the sense that there are a lot of adults here - and there are often times it would be easier to have a discussion without self-censoring due to young ears being present. In that sense, I like the idea - however I don't feel that the pros outweigh the cons here.
Part of what I love about Heroes Community is that everyone can come here and enjoy all of the parts of the forum. (except mod-squad  ) When I read this thread the one thing that jumps out at me is that an adults forum would serve to be a major division in the community. Already we have seen drop-offs in the other forums when the boards were split. Creating a forum for adults only would only serve to further divide the community.
Members who choose a forum for adults would very likely cease to post in any other forums, it would just seem logical to carry on discussions with people that they felt they had more in common with - and likely felt freer posting with. This would hugely decrease activity on the other boards, and it would also take away from the element of HC that i think makes it such a great forum -and that's the fact that we're always exposed to different people of all ages and from all over the world.

I think this idea sucks.
This is a friggin gaming msg board, if you want porn there are other places for it.
It just makes HC lose its character as a msg board.
Go get your porn other places instead you lazy bums, or even better.. try and get out every now and then and get some real action

Well.. if it was the "Some young kids" or "new members" or other people who might get scared, or repulsed.. you can make it so only some members can use it, you know.. then people who whouldn't want to see it, simply can't.
On my opinion if it's a good idea.. i feel that it is. because if something hardcore would be shown there, the member could simply be BANNED for using the adult forum.
But then again.. If it would turn out to be a "porn festival" i wouldn't look at it anyways, since i could find pr0n other places if needed. Besides, the though of knowing what you guys are jerking 2.. might be a somewhat scary... i still have nightmares of svarog just starting at a statue >_<

Its not just about liberating the porn. Its also about creating a heaven from all the kids spamming this past period.
I have to tell you one more thing though. When IYY created this thread, it was after us two were talking about it, and it was more like a laugh, not really seriously contemplating it (u could see that by the tone of the poll), but it really turned out that people took it seriously and actually some support it.

So I think I have changed my opinion of how helpful this might be
I still say no porn - as Stefan said in his post (looong ago) porn is a plenty on the net, no need for it here. But it really would be nice to have a safe haven for adults.
Its a simple fact that the average age here has been plummeting, the oldies are quickly facing extinction if we don't do something to save them....

I'm surprised I never noticed this idea before. If we could figure out some sort of system that would block younger users like how regular members are blocked from Modsquad then this idea could work.

well you could just have the moderaotrs (thats you) review our posts (thats us), for any big give aways about where their lieing about their age or not

That's the idea... it would just be nice for the moderators to have some grounds to keep the 'too young' people out of a conversation. In the Otherside, it can be particularly difficult to moderate when some kid starts ranting nonsense that does no more than derail the conversation - sure we can penalize the kid all to oblivion when he gets really unruly.. but just the same the topic is still ruined. It would be nice to be able to just say "sorry, you're too young to be here" and remove them before the subject is ruined.
Likewise it gets soo very tiresome having to self censor constantly, it would just be nice to be able to post what I'm thinking as I'm thinking it.
I hope that no one gets the wrong impression - there are a lot of nice new young people around - and I'm not saying I'd like to get as far from them as possible, I just think that the youth are overrunning the ancients - and it would be nice to have a senior's home on the premises
