OK, great job IYY! We have them all now.
So: I have to admit that I was considering the H3 version the best. I was wrong. H2 looks the best. It goes beyond the quality of graphics, all the way to style and stance. The H3 version comes second in my opinion. (however the first choice in animation when compared to H2 and H4).
H4 champion has flows in certain details, like the tail of the horse, certain body proportions, puppet like aspect - like most creatures in H4 - but still has the looks of a genuine cavalier.
Not the case with H5 style. Now the horse is very, very burdened with details (not necessarily bad, but maybe too much) while the mounted hero is indistinguishable from that huge armor around his chest and shoulders. They both together compose an almost amorph mass of metal, unless you zoom a lot.
The good part is the flag. It looks nice when still, but I'll wait to see it waving. the h3 doesn't have one because only heroes do.

i think i like homm3 champion best.

homm5 - too exagerated.

homm4 - way too smooth surfaces and lines.

homm3 knight - ok, but maybe too realistic 3d armor and horse (especially if you look at the helm in game, as animation seems bring out more detail), and too much contrast between the brightly colored parts and less brightly colored ones. you more or less only see the shield and some harness decorations.

homm3 champion - imho a little less cartoonish version of homm2 knight, same kind of distortion can be recognized. maybe brightness of blue color is bit overdone. this may be because the yellow color that contrasts the blue is too bright.

homm3 hero - maybe something derived from this could be ok for homm5? bit too smooth shining armor, though, as if trying to say: 'see, we can do a metallic-looking texture in 3d'

homm2 - doesn't look as good on this picture as it does in the game which is the environment where it fits. head of the horse is more easy to recognize than in the case of homm3 champion which just has a bunch of blue decorations there.
