You are wrong again. You are offered magic at least every 4th level. And it is possible for a demoniac to be offered water every single time magic is offered, could be 10 times, could be 0.

I am not sure about it, so i cant argue. Let the testers say. But i thought you will be offered water magic only twice in game. If you refuse twice, no more water.

Maretti is right another question, maybe anybody knows more about level-ups? sometimes magic is offered starting from level2, sometimes from level4; sometimes magic is offered to warrior each 4th level, sometimes each 3d level, maybe mages are offered each 2d level...

Check out this thread, Sag http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=16647

In particular, this part of it:
If a might hero hasn't been offered a magic school yet, he will be offered one at level 4. If he turns it down a magic school will be offered again at level 8, if he keeps turning it down, he will also have one offered at levels 12, 16 and 20 (i.e. every 4-th level). If he gets offered a magic school on one of the other levels (see the chances in the random table above), the counter will be reset. Say, he is offered magic school at level 3. If he keeps turning it down and the counter doesn't get reset again, he will be offered it again on levels 7, 11, 15 and 19. The wisdom gets offered in a similar way. If you keep declining it and if the counter doesn't get reset, it will be offered on levels 6, 12 and 18.

It actually doesnt matter whether you turn the magic offered down or not. You will be offered magic at least every 4th level anyway, but it might be as advanced or expert magic.

Then you will be offered magic again at lvl 6 (if not earlier).

As I recall wisdom is "ranked" higher than magic, so I guess you will be offered wisdom at lvl 6 and magic at lvl 7.

Yes, wisdom is ranked higher. So if both wisdom and magic are due, then you will be offered wisdom.

I just tested the part about whether magic will be offered on the very next level. It takes a long time to get the skills to work out right, so I only saw it twice. Both times wisdom was offered, then magic was offered on the next level. But only seeing it twice, this is far from being conclusive that it will always happen.

Also, if both wisdom and magic are due AND all skills are at expert, then both will be offered at the same time.

If you learn a school from a hut, will this reset the counter?

This is a bit unclear. Do you mean all other skills are at expert, and if so, how many?

The point is that you wont be offered any skill at adv or expert level, so you will get 2 new skills to choose between. These will be some magic and wisdom.

No, only magic gained from leveling up "count" and will reset the score.

I did some testing on this stuff and I decided we need more testing. I think there are more details we can find out. This is especially true when you get offered, and accept, a magic skill at a random level.

I didn't test enough to be conclusive, but I found that when you get a magic skill before level 4, whether it's from leveling or from a scholar or hut, then at level 4 the skill is always upgraded and you will not be offered a new magic skill.

Anyway, this stuff should be in one of the skills threads instead of this one.

@Binabik: What exactly do you wanna test?

About wisdom and magic at the same level you could make the test at lvl 12. At lvl 12 you should get both wisdom and magic "naturally" and then its much easier to see whether you will get magic at lvl 13 or not. But there might be a diffrence between lvl 6 and 12 (allthough I dont find it likely)

Dimis wrote about this in the internals thread btw. (page 2)

About existing skills: I tried to find some info about it but it takes to long to read so much stuff so I gave up. As I recall it does matter how your numbers look when its determined what existing skill you will advance in, meaning if you have 10 in log and 1 in estates its more likely that you will be offered adv log than adv estates. Am I wrong?

No, the odds matter for upgrades of existing skills IIRC. I know it generates a random number when the game determines what skill to offer at advanced/expert level (if there is more than one option). And I am 99% certain that the game actually uses the number.
