Girls playing HoMM/MM

Please help me make a list of of girls playing HoMM/MM
The prime Idea is that girls are rarely playing this Turnbased strategy or the RPG part.  Convince others, that girls are also playing these wonderful games.

I knew a girl, who played as much as me and wanna see how many girls are at the community!!!!

I know three girls in person that play or have played.

I know two guys...

Girls are more attracted to this series than others because of the fantasy theme, the lack of gore and hack'n'slash, and the fact that they can take their time. Of course, having a Rampart/Preserve/Sorceress castle doesn't hurt either.

Yes, they are rare. Not very attracted, that's a fact.
I know only one and that's my girlfriend. Fond to theese fantasy games. Yes she is! In fact it's the only gendre she's interested in (and horror kind of stuff too). That includes various RPG's & of course HOMM (from H2 to H4).

What??

As a female who loves the HoMM series, and not just because of the pretty Unicorns - I'd have to say that you're making a very strange generalization here...

Also, as a woman that always played 2minute turns and hated going any longer, I also question the notion tat it's because we can 'take our time'.

There have been and still are some excellent women players, and if you go check out games like Diablo on battlenet, you will see that women play there as well - so your hack'n'slash theory is also kinda off.

One thing that a lot of people don't consider is that there are quite a few women players that I know of that do not reveal their gender online and prefer to hide that they are women.

Why? Because there are so many jerks in the chatrooms that will not accept a woman as a real player, and will assume she is there to cyber rather than play a game.

There are also quite a few men that are threatened by the idea of a girl beating them, and will tend to get nasty about it when they do.

Sometimes its just easier to get a good game if they think you're a guy.

I've always been a gamer, and I feel left out of gaming groups since I'm one of the few girls.

I certainly play as the Sorceress, Rampart, etc. towns, but I'm not too shabby with Warlock, Wizard or Knight.

Jerks like those that Pandora described are disgusting to me.They tend to call names and stuff to a girl just because she beated them and their ego, bravado call it whatever you like it,is hurt.Well, dude I have to say one thing to you:TRY HARDER.If you don't want to be defeated again by a girl just practise and then try harder.

And yes,I am a male. And I stand for equale rights of men and women. But,also I stand for this:If both are guilty, there isn't reason for them both to go to hell.(previous sentence is about man's and woman's equality).

Well, I guess I'm pretty much a jerk.

For someone who is playing heroes 3 at own time own pace is pretty much annoying to my friend and I. As to using Rampart and Castle are a big no-no to us because we think that Rampart is the weakest town in heroes 3 other than farming resources and it is often being ridicule as a farming town.

Girls usually pick up gaming 'things' slower and like to do it at their own pace. The problems with why gamers would prefer to play with males is the assumption that male players make a better player in the game, be it strategy or challenge. Like some of the female players I know, they learnt how to play a game by someone teaching them and never venture their playing styles and patterns out of that 'teaching' which they regard as some kind of bible. If your teacher is good, then you inherit a good playing strategy which will takes time for other players to break it. After that, its pretty boring to play with you again (on the fact that they can beat you in any ways).

However, its pretty sad to see the rise of whiners male players who spoils the gamers' reputation. Pathetic breeds.

Edit: heroes IV thread? I'm pretty much a loser in this.

Lord_Pc's Theory

i think that most of the gaming community is made of of males because at childhood boys play with certain toys, generally ofcourse. now these toys, like cars and robots(?), can be very easily turned into games, like need for speed, so then males take to stop from toys to games

now for girl toys cant really be turned into games. its kinda hard to make a game from dolls and other things. but when girls do take an interest in other toys, like cars and robots, they could move onto similar games

also take what women are interested in, i would say much could be summerised by appearance, such as handbags and make up. its kinda hard to turn that into a game

men, lets say action stuff (car chases and killing) which can easily be turned into games

I got to agree with Lord Crusader.
It is easier to find a gay partner than a true blood female player.

What!!!!  I hardly know what to say, but feel compelled to say something...  There are plenty of girls that enjoy this game (although that might not be all they enjoy).  The stereotypes are flying all over the place.

We are not (all) mindless, handbag carrying, doll hugging, imbolciles!!

Mmmmh, as far as i remember there were some females amongst the best Heroes 3 players in the old days. It is just like like Pandora stated, that they dont have female player names. Otherwise they get the

"Can ive some nakeds"

message or even worse too much. As soon as they notice that you are not a complete idiot like that, you get a good chance that they say to you that they are female. So if u think that there are no females in the Hommunity you may think about that.

I know some female H3 players that are very good at this game, and were better than me in the old days by far.

I had a supacute GF that loved to play H3 and s**, but instead of marrying her, i was drunken one day and kissed another girl...darn me. :*(

One of the most active players in the zone (refering to Heroes 3) since 2 years is a woman. She is a nice person, has beaten many good players and u can be sure her turns take longer than 2 minutes..
Her zone nick is Zendy. Take a look on her stats on WW here
