You know what? I don't even know why I listed it. I've only seen 3 or 4 episodes. 
I was shopping an hour ago, checking out all the DVDs. It seems to me that only the Simpsons releases have the episode listings on the back cover for your reference. I might be wrong, though, since they were out of American Dad and Family Guy this time. I don't get to watch TV on a regular basis, so I guess I need to do some research before I shop for season DVDs. All I know is that at around $40 apiece, these items are too expensive for me to "spree" anytime soon. Unless I become a rock star someday, I guess I won't be collecting all of the Simpsons seasons. Anyway, I settled on the first season of Futurama since it's a fun show. Next time, I might go for South Park.

Star Trek - Voyager (reruns) - Mainly because of 7 of 9, but a female captain was cool also. #1
Star Treck Enterprise (also reruns) - Common Scott Backula as a captain? T'Pol??? I just loved this show (don't know if it is still being made, but I don't think so). #2
Las Vagas - Interesting despite being centered around a casino. Would figure they would run out of things in short order, but they keep it fresh. #3
Law and Order - Criminal Intent : Don't ask me why I like it over the others, I just do. #4
Numb3rs - I actually like math, and to see it being used in an interesting and different way is always refreshing. #5

The maths in that show is a bit contrived and very gimmicky but the show is still cool.

i don't have a favourite show, but i have a top five
Mock the week... very funny show, but only if you listen to the news.
south park... a great laugh, with edge humour.
hustle... and british show about con-men, which is very clever jobs which don't explain everything until the very end.
young ones... an old british show, violent, rude... the tag-line is "Yells, smells and Bloody hells!"
doctor who... EXTERMINATE!

I'm also a huge Seinfeld fan, but having seen every episode 40,000 times and owning the DVDs, I don't watch the reruns on FOX anymore. Plus they look awful on my HDTV.

1) Simpsons: i don't watch it much now but its funny
2) Stargate Sg-1 and Atlantis: Sg-1 was killed because they got rid of Jack and Hammond, so it sucks, Atlantis is ok though
3) I'm a Celebrity..... GET ME OUT OF HERE: ant and dec make me laugh
4) urm..... i guess the X factor
5) resevered for when Star Wars makes a TV series

I don't watch tv much these days and specially series are not my thing atm. Still some classics series comes in mind...
1) Simpsons - No big surprise here. It may not be the most entertaining or funniest show out there but it has grown so big status after so many years. It feels like funny neighboring family rather than sick comedies.
2) Macgyver - You have missed something great if you haven't seen this when you where a teen. Opening music is classic and brings smile on my face every time i hear it. Not that i would watch this series that much these days but it has that nostalgic feel for me.
3) Kummeli - I think every Finnish knows this classic tv comedy from back of the 90s. So many good sketches and of course some bad but this was really hit at the time. All the kids in the school (and still at work, people throw these "one liners" from the show) Good stuff.
4) Oz - Classic prison serie from the late 90s and early twenties. Maybe a bit too many episodes but it kept me interested over the years all the same. I would rank Prison Break at the same level also (or maybe even higher) but time will tell how much i will appreciate it later. (haven't seen even all season 1 episodes  )
5) Friends - It's no surprise for me that this show was (is) so popular. I liked the show but for me it wasn't so horrible that the show finally ended. It was rather irritating media circus to tell the truth but that doesn't stop the show being good.
Damned, used all five already! Honorable mention i would like add Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as it was my favorite show as an kid. Now looking back the voice actors (Finnish at least) are horrible and the show is not THAT great. It just is Legendaarista  Also i would like to mention Stargate SG-1 as it seems to be others favorite here as well. Watched the few very first seasons and enjoyed it but i waited for the Big War what never took place  If you are interested in Stargate watch season 4 episode 6 called: Window Of Opportunity. It's classic episode

Of course tastes change, shows get cancelled, and the shows themselves sometimes get well... odd. Five years ago, none of the shows on my list would have been there. Five years from now, who knows. If we are talking of all time..well my list would be different as well.
