You are missing out  Sometimes a dream can be so breathtaking, awe-inspiring or plain mindblowing that nothing can compare. There was a time when I could remember my dreams easier, that I could make them.. stay. Nowadays I find it harder but then it takes some mental preparation  Perhaps this will help you. What I tend to do is try to hold on to any traces of images or emotions I have when I wake up and focus on those that left a strong impression. If you concentrate on them you start remembering bit by bit details that surrounded those dream parts and they become a point of reference. It's like you start rebuilding them around this point. Unfortunately remembering a dream in its entirely is really hard, especially as it's not easy to tell what parts were from one dream and what from another. And sometimes one dream flows into another so it's more of a continuation than another thing entirely. Go figure Try to notice trends and patterns that only happen in dreams, look for mirrors or pieces of paper. It is unlikely that you will see a mirror in a dream and many people see undecipherable symbols when trying to read from a paper or a sign. Try to make reality checks throughout the day so that it's more likely that you will try it during a dream. The feeling of touch, things that are normally accompanied by something specific etc.

Since friday I started dreaming again, I just stay in bed all morning, just dreaming.
Mostly random nonsense, like a medieval treasure hunt that turns into me dropping canned tuna into the sea to a battle where the enemy forces get cut to pieces by arrows, and my older brother narrating the fight (We were just passing by, so not involved in it)
Then there was one where I was a woman, I'm not talking about having breasts and a vagina, but mind and body, that one is shady I remember the events with clarity, but I can't really 'synch' with 'myself' in the dream 'I' was being visited by random people, I claimed that they can't be real since they've died. Then there were more puzzles to be solved.
Then there was a strange one yesterday that I won't share since it contains stuff that's inappropriate for the little'uns,
I had a funny dream where I knew that I was in a dream, then I woke up from that dream (only, I didn't ^^) then a lot of things go bad in my life and I can't shake the thought that it is real and there's nothing I can do about it, the relief I felt when I woke up. (I went straight back to sleep though)
Strange coincidence, since I was looking for this thread of friday to share that I've got my dreams back again. (not sure what triggered it though)

In one dream I can remember, I was being threatened by robbers. At that moment I was thinking about "Meh, I just wake up now and get out of this event." and then I woke up.
I had other dreams in which after I woke up, I was wondering why I could not do the same things in reality as in the dream. In my dream, i was able to do telekinesis...how awesome.
And in a dream that has haunted me since my childhood, I keep hearing terryfying screams so loud that I begin to tremble. In the dream, I see nothing, yet my body is lit. I cant see anything except mybody and then the screams come.
The worst thing is that those screams continue when I wake up. Imagine that an incomprehensible scream follows you when you wake up. I cried once because of that happening.
I can remember many of the eventful dreams I have. Most of the time I really understand them, and why they are the way they are.
Has anyone of you ever had the feeling of "What if this a dream?" in a dream or in RL?
I also have had the feeling of remembering everything about the dream just before I am awake. When I become awake, I forget everything about what happened in a dream except that it was a dream.
Its like my memory is flushed or decreased when I wake up.

Don't you hate it when you dream about your own current life, I once had a dream that I wanted to wake up from and I did (well, I thought I did) then that 'new' dream features events which turn my current life upside down, I felt such relief when I eventually woke up, however the dream featured some weeks if not months ahead, so at the same time I kind of felt like I just lost some of my achievements and hard work, it's my private
I once had I dream where there was this ultra high-pitch noise that I could amplify, (this was a dream of my lying in bed trying to fall asleep lol) I soon realized that I couldn't reduce it, and after that I couldn't control it, then there was blazing light coming in through my curtains then I woke up, and promptly went back to sleep feeling somewhat relieved.

It feels plain weird when you realize you may be dreaming and then wake up. In a different dream  That's a mind**** when you wake up for real. Or when you pinch your arm to see if you are sleeping and you actually feel pain. Oh, it's not a dream after all. Yet it is. And have you felt so drowsy that you start yawning and eventually fall asleep and wake up some time later in the same dream? Over time my dream senses have improved to the point of being unable to distinguish from my real senses When I first started having dreams where I could use aikido they were unrealistic, moves happened too effortlessly and smoothly, almost as if ethereal. As I started getting better at it the feeling of touch and contact also improved in my dreams. The only sense I do not remember having in a dream is of smell. Touch is simulated perfectly, even putting my hand into a pocket, finding and feeling a coin.
Of course despite sense realism, a lot happens that makes little to no sense yet remains hard to recognize as a thing not connected to reality. And then there are some senses that I have not felt in real life. I had opened a folder someone left in my desk, saw a photo of some students that I intinctively knew were the ones that had died in an accident not so long ago. I heard an otherworldly scream pierce my soul yet it was not something my ears could hear. That was.. unsettling. Or when someone's eyes darkened, fixed themselves on mine and my brain started vibrating from all sides with increased intensity that I knew I had to focus my will on waking up before it got any worse. Wonder what it would have felt if I remained in the dream. Then there was the time I was stabbed in the back and I felt cold and numbness spread throughout my body till I collapsed into unconsciousness. And respawned some 15 mins in the past with knowledge of what had transpired.

I remember having a nightmare - pretty scary one or so was the feeling after that - with a plot worthy of a novel which ended (i.e. I woke up) before the story was logically concluded (and there certainly was a lot of logic in the whole thing, very unusual). It was just as frustrating as watching a thrilling movie which stops right when it's most interesting with "to be continued". Bloody evil...

Had a strange dream. I "hired" a prostitute, there's some extra bits there that I don't want to add, too messed. ------------ in the morning I'm trying to get the cooker working, fire coming out of the knobs and things like that, I try to put it out with the equally broken tap ( faucet)
When I finally get things under control, I realize that I'm trying to boil a female hip (buttocks included), and fry the legs on a separate pan...
All in all I slept like a baby. Oh, and I didn't have sex with the prostitute, since it was a woman with a penis, however she did stay the night for some reason.

We cuddled, the penis thing disappeared (out of my mind at least), though initially I was freaked out, she wanted to leave, and yeah, I got her to stay. Might not have been a prostitute, I didn't pay her or nothing, but initial impression (plus the thought going through my head) was that she was a hoe.

I once had a dream where I was in the middle of a beautiful garden or a park.
I think that it was summer and the weather was just great - sun was shining, there was a refreshing breeze blowing, it was warm... But then I saw a pine forest on a hill completely covered in snow and on top of the hill was a HoMM 3 Rampart fort. It was standing there like Gandalf when he arrived at Helm's Deep battle.
Anyways, what really caught me off guard was an anime blonde girl with whom I was making out. I couldn't believe what was happening, but it wasn't like I could controll that dream, so that's about it from that scene.
...
Damn, that was by far the sweetest dream I've ever had. I wish that I could dream it again...

I had that exact same dream with Elvin years ago. He had come to visit Finland and spoke Finnish rather fluently. I was like, "wtf, when did you learn Finnish?" "Oh, I've been on a language course", he answered.

Had a funny dream the other night. I was about to join army and had reached camp which was more of a university ground and we had to attend some classes on the first day. There were some HC peeps(Ad, war overlord and kip that I can remember) and they suggested screw that, let's go for a beer. I said it's probably a bad idea but then again we have not taken our oath yet so they can't give us prison. Two hours later Ad, overlord and kip are shouting drunken ramblings(or were they warcries?  ) and I am watching still sober and amused  Unsurprisingly an officer came and told us off, not sure if we got punished.
And there was this other dream where I was fighting crime at night and after a successful run I had moved to another corrupt city to combat organized crime. I did not use weapons or gadgets and depended on hand to hand combat and stealth. On the second night there I ambush a criminal and find myself surrounded by all the high ranking baddies of the city. They had set me up and united to kick my @ss. I barely got out alive, I had to dive on the water and swim to the nearest dock all the while hoping I don't get a bullet. In rl I am not a fast swimmer but you have no idea how fast you can swim when you are AFRAID. I go to find the police woman who was giving me a place to stay and she is not at her office. From what I gather she was either taken our or she was the one who set me up. I go to the police commissioner and to tell him I have to get out of there and he says that no trains are leaving from the city for the weekend. He said I should lay low and leave on Monday. To which I replied, I am not going to survive till Monday. That was messed up. I guess that's what happens when you attempt to do batman's job without having his training, gadgets and a safe high tech lair.
