The new Unicorn is only good due to the 3D grapgics. The silver unicorn looks strange with the flowers, and the tatoos are not right! since when do the elves do tatoos for unicorns? it just ssn't right that way, in my opinion.
The new unicorns look too decorated to be battle hardened war horses.
The HOMM IV unicorn just sucks (like many other things about that shamefull game). What were they thinking when they gave it a that multicolor mane? may be the homo - lesbo - andro - transgender flag (no offense to any of those people please, offending any ethnic, racial, cultural, religious, sexual or other groupe is the last of my intentions, comrades).
The HOMM III unicorns are great, but for me a bit to skinny. They are suppose to be tough, so they should have more muscule. I don't like the fact we can see their ribs (call hte animal S.O.S! the elves are starving thier horses!) 
The big duel for me was between the HOMM I and the HOMM II unicorns. They are very much alike, but the HOMM II unicorn is an improved version of the HOMM I unicorn. It has better graphics, more of a "realistic" look, and finaly has some muscules that we can see.
That's enough to make a good unicorn for me.

Hey, hey, not all creatures must look mean or strong.
I vote for Heroes IV's because it gives more... umm... colors ... variations to the game. We got scary bone dragon and cute unicorn, hey that's balance.
Now that the designer gets all the rants ("What was that moron thinking?") cmon guys where's the respect? you don't like it doesn't mean you should curse it.

I like them all except for, again, the one in HoMM IV.

H3 and H5 ones are close... gave my vote to H3 for the originality and not-too-bad animations and look
H5 is just too "rosy" I like a more muscular unicorn 
OMG the H4 unicorns are so unbelievably well-destructed... rainbow-looking furs? I must be color-blind to choose it

They should make a seperate team for the people that like elves, but hate a lot of the ideas used with the Sylvan...oh wait, they already did! Check out dungen guys!
I think it's dumb having golden coloured manes for the unicorns, I think it's dumb making them look underfed, I think it's dumb to give them a rainbow mane, and I think it's dumb to make them too horse-like - like replacing their lion-like tail for a normal horse tail is changing the myth! However, Unicorns with Celtic tatoos is actualy alright! A lot of races painted or marked their horses in real history, so why not do something for the Unicorn? I think the roses was also a good idea, Unicorns are calm, nature loving creatures, the roses are symbolic to their behavure! Also the H5 Unicorns do look more stronger...another good thing!
On top of that the Sylvan are sort of a native american indien/Celtic/Elf people, perfect for me!
I can safely say that I like everything about the Sylvan team! And my advice for those who don't like it all that much...
"Look for another team." Simple!

actually, those roses on the HV unicorns aren't that bad... even though i casted my vote for the H3 one
the H3 unicorns look the best... in terms of the horn, the mane, and also that bit of fur just below their chin
