i love that pic, would love seeing that be a creature. and who cares if some guy thinks it's plagiarism. let's see what he can make and compare it to any of ur works. which i'm sure would be better. i say keep up the good work cuz it rocks.

Bull****. First of all, it's beautiful, not ugly. Second, it's not plagiarism - it's homage to Warcraft.  Finally, people have to understand that WoG is a mod, not a new game. In addition, it's a fan-made modification.
The entire Heroes game is plagiarism anyway...

However I never felt too concerned with Grove, this plagiarism business has drawn my attention; it's funny to read claims about homage to Warcraft, blah blah blah... Be Grove cool or not, be it good or bad or something, plagiarism does not cease to exist because it is dressed in the garments of a homage of sorts. I'd rather stay away from rendering personal arguments, because the question had been answered long ago in the Legal FAQ by Blizzard themselves:

The characters that guy is making are built directly on 2D renders of Blizzard's original models taken from Warcraft 3. The names for those characters are taken from Warcraft 3, too. The creator of this mod explicitly stated he had been using some specific software to make sets of sprites based on freeze-frames of actual Warcraft 3 models. Since it's not a legally allowed total conversion of a Blizzard game as mentioned in the FAQ, it looks rather like a theft of copyrighted concepts and names, regardless of his mod being non-commercial. Moreover, Blizzard's original characters are being literally stuck into another copyrighted fictional universe, which might be treated like something similar to an illegal adaptation of Blizzard's copyrighted materials, just like mentioned in the FAQ.
In a nutshell: the guy who's making the mod will get busted by Blizzard the next day after the mod is released. Ugly or pretty, it's still plagiarism. A Night Elf race in HoMM3 would be great in my opinion, while stolen content surely wouldn't. Sorry. Though I'll give this mod a try if it survives a day or two after being released. Blizzard, they're really mean guys.
