God, I've havnt been on in a while. I can tell this by the fact that when I looked at my profile, it said I was 13. I'm almost 15 now. God, time flys by, don't you agree?

H3 WoW- in the wake of WoGs

Hi,

Somebody asked about addons to WoG, but he was redirected to WoG FAQ.
I only have a mod, but new scripts can be considered, as small addons.. Isn't it?

Simply go to your Heroes3 folder. If You have installed the Script Update, then the Mapmaker Tools.txt will be in Documentation directory.
This file includes WoG cheatcode list.
Previous WoG versions have this file elsewhere..

I have a problem...I use ResEdit2 to extract Def files,then DefView to save them as 1)BMP,2)BMP named PCX and 3)Def list.I saved them as BMP(bitmap) and here is the problem: When I use DefMaker,new Def files are blures(no pics) Even if I just rename the pic,its still not right...What am I doing wrong? Is it specific properties of pic(like those for heroes portraits) or is it a problem in program(the line that shows progress always stop on half)? Please help

Hello ever'body.  I'm new to WoG and so far I'm really loving it.  A sincere tip of the hat to all those folks who contributed and are still contributing, though I know I'm a late-comer and probably missed my chance to thank lots of them.

I'm having a little trouble though, and having a hard time finding out where to find support on it.  I've gone to the 'Heroes Round Table' (the link from the WoG home site: http://wakeofthegods.strategyplanet.gamespy.com/news.shtml ) but everything is really outdated.  The latest news and discussion is from like three years ago.

The link at the beginning of this FAQ is broken, or something... I get a "Error has been encountered while processing this request. The input data might not have been valid."

Soooo... where do I go for help and/or bug reporting?

Okay then, thanks for the response doom3d.

Here's my problem: I've wogified a custom map of my own construction.  Everything on land works as it should (aside from the frequent ERM crashes and what-not, which are usually very brief and can be worked around by replaying off the autosave.  However, each and every sea bound battle, from the new 'Lost Bottle' ones, to the original abandoned and wrecked ships, results in a game freeze.  The hourglass icon pops up to a black screen and it sits there for minutes on end.  If I alt-tab to the desktop and then back to the game, I get the ERM crash pop-up, but never until I alt-tab.  So... is there a solution or work-around to this? Is it a known error, or could it be connected to an existing error that makes sense?  

Any help on this would be great.  Thanks in advance.

It occurs, when You start a battle, and You get an error message before !?BR trigger works out. (before the second round0 !?BR trigger, if no tactics phase)
In this case You are on the battlescreen, and the game waits for OK click on the message shown at adventure screen.

You can reproduce this failure with this code:

!?BA52;
!!VRz-20:S1;

Or something similar. The only solution IMO is not to get error messages  at all. At least not during battles. Locate the option responsible for crash, and switch it off, report (and/or debug).

P.S. I'm working on Limited ERM Debugger. It will allows You -amongst others- to switch ON/OFF wogification options during the game.
Planned for 2007 Q3, wogmod build11.

Well, I am just beginning and have some problems regarding the script master editor.

Here are my questions...

1-Is it possible, using the Script Master editor, to have a dwelling that has a set number of creatures at the beginning of the game but that does NOT have a weekly growth rate?

2-How do I change the values in the Script Master editor using the number keys? Changing them using by clicking the arrows and using the up/down arrow keys take forever, especially regarding the cost value.

If somebody could answer my questions, it would be greatly appreciated.

i had a question with the armorer skill in WoG, (tazar etc) they gain 5% to the skill each level, so level 30 tazar would get +150% to the already 30% (i think)
how do monsters take 180% less damage from attacks? there must be a limit, if there is, what is it?
i found this quote, so does it apply to WoG?

also, is there anyway to negate the armorer effect without offense? or do you just need an awesome attack skill?

this has just kind of confused me, i usually play an armorer so i take less damage (yay) but is it worth it if the ability stops after a certain level? (it might be better taking someone who has monsters as a specialty)

Yes it is worth.My Tazar was lv 23 and 17 blessed firebirds only killed 11 lizard warriors!Not to mention my ballista did the same amout of damage as my doubleshooting 100 lizard warriors
