New heroes bio and heroes pages
Ubi is kindly releasing new heroes bios, on a weekly basis for quite some time now. As you've certainly seen, I've been updating our heroes pages here with this info as quickly as possible.
For example, I just updated Academy heroes, to add Havez and Narxes:
http://www.heroesofmightandmagic.com/heroes5/academy_heroes.shtml
You might wonder, however, how I matched heroes with skills and specialties. That deserves a long due explanation, especially since some choices are to be taken with caution (Cyrus...).
Basically, what I do when a new hero bio comes out is match him/her with an existing hero in the beta. In most cases, that is easy because the bio clearly mentions a special ability: Havez, for example, is clearly the Gremlin specialist (Artisan), while Narxes is the Mage specialist (Mentor).
In other cases, that is not so clear: Cyrus and Nur have been especially tricky. Especially considering that 11 academy heroes have been disclosed, when they were only 10 in the beta...
That means that apart from the names and bios, any other information on our final heroes pages is not more than a guess of mine, and may very well be completely wrong.
With that warning in mind, let's discuss some tricky choices:
- Cyrus:
There is a Cyrus in the beta, which has 'Radiant' special, and which I first matched to 'final Cyrus'. I changed him to Artisan after the batch of Academy heroes, because it was the only free spot, but that turns out to be a poor choice, with Havez' release yesterday... So Cyrus is back to Radiant.
- Nur:
In the beta, the hero named 'Nur' was 'Wielder of Fire'. But while that special is clearly stated in Nathir bio, Nur "is capable of constantly replenishing her own arcane energies": that means Inexhaustible to me.
Note that she may very well have a new specialty, one that was not available in the beta...
- Freyda:
I chosed Expediter over Wanderer for her mainly because of the similarities in her bio and Axel's.
- Biara:
Biara's bio doesn't mention her being a Gate Keeper at all. But without any better match so far, I sticked to the Biara hero described in the beta files.
If anything, she could be a Hypnotist, but she seems to be a campaign hero, which Efion (beta Hypnotist) is not.
- Raven:
Raven's special described in her bio is very similar to the Maledictor special. I guess its effect has been tweaked, as I don't see a second such special being added.
- Alaron:
Being a Forest Guardian is not clear in his bio. That was mostly a last spot guess. Seeing how it turned out with Cyrus makes me wonder...
I'll add some more comments here when new heroes are revealed. In the mean time, I'm looking forward to read your comments and suggestions.

Well, with the demo out, no more guesses We have the real stuff.
I mean, since I've just updated the heroes pages with the demo information, you have the real stuff!!
Note that Maahir has disappeared from the Academy forces (no idea why, but I guess he'll be back in the release). Also, Gilraen (Sylvan) seems to have temporarily lost his icon.
Also note many skills, abilities and specials names have changed. Go to the skills pages to master the new ones.
As before, click on the hero icon to get his/her artwork portrait (some are still missing, until Ubi release them).

Maahir = Cyrus when he was young
There will be a single scenario, Maahir's Gambit, that will show his raise to power.

He is in the game files, but nowhere to be seen in game so far.
"In the game files" means in the deep layers of the data.pak file, containing many secrets of the game, and from where I extract the information...

Sorry, but no. At least not with one we have now.
However, you will be able to add it in a map with the map editor.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. The short answer is: nowhere.

Heroes Join/Group
Hi, I have a question.
In Heroes IV, I can join 2 or more heroes in a group.
While in combat I can use 2 heroes for example with their different abilities.
Why in Heroes V I can not do that ???

Well thats bacause homm5 is more like homm3, heroes are no longer units like homm4. you can only cast spells, attack or use abilities, they cannot be attacked, when all your units perish your hero loses the battle and returns for hire in the tavern. also every army can have only one hero(leader)..

Also, having more than one hero in an army defeated the purpose of the "Heroes" of might and magic.
I'd just like to say here and now that the HV set up for improving your hero is great, and does the bes job I've seen yet at living up to the title.

Ok thanks for your explanation. Anyway, I just used scholar for trading spell between two heroes.

Temkhan has indeed been disabled in latest patch. Sorry.
Elvin is right: he's in, called Timerkhan. I didn't test if the map works correctly afterwards though.

Are you sure? I'm positive I had added him as a garrisoned hero in my AI testing in 2.1.

I went back to check my map but... I could not see him in the hero list or add him as a garrisoned hero Of course I had modified the original map but I should still be able to add him in a new one...
I don't know either I messed with something or I was mistaken in the first place in which case I'm sorry.
Where did you see Timerkhan?

I opened a new map in the editor (1.5 and 2.1), added a Wizard, opened the object property panel, the (...) button on the "Shared" property, and selected /MapObjects/Academy/Timerkhan.... in the list.
As I said, I didn't try further to see if it actually worked in the game.
What I said first, that he wasn't available in the editor, was based on the fact that in latest patches, his definition file: /MapObjects/Academy/Timerkhan.(AdvMapHeroShared).xdb
contains this line at the end:
<HideInEditor>true</HideInEditor>
