How about some new features I would like to see:

Multiple neutral creature army: Works the same as other neutral creatures, expect there are two to several types of them at the same time.

Neutral heroes: They just sit and block player's path. Otherwise they act as a normal heroes. When player's hero has a diplomacy ability, that neutral hero may join with you.

There were Neutral heroes wandering the maps of Heroes IV. I'm not sure I was very fond of the idea, but it does add some extra amount of variation. Similarly, coupling creatures would add a small dimension to the exploring game. It's not a major issue for me, but it does seem natural.

Quote:
Hostile area: When a player ends turn and one of the heroes are in this area, he/she gets attacked by monsters of the map editor's choice. The size and shape of the area can be set by a player. There are half of the chance that your army gets surrounded which changes a bit of that tactics phase. With scouting ability, the player would be able to see the approximate number and type(s) of the monster(s) looking for an ambush.

That's an interesting idea. I'm not quite sure how this should work - would the player be able to see which ares were hostile, and which weren't?

Quote:
Ablility to buy upgraded creatures from single dwellings around the map.

Hmmm perhaps - or better, like in H3 WOG, let player upgrade creature dwellings to produce upgrated units. That was a GREAT feature, because it reduces micromanagement a lot!

Quote:
Resource weeks: These would be upgraded a bit. Instead of only giving extra resources from mines, these weeks would also spawn some random loose resources across the map just like creature weeks.

Mines spawning loose resources: In each month started on the first capturing of mine, these mines would spawn one loose resource right next to mine (of course not the random one).

I'm not so keen on this one. First of all, it would increase micromanagement, because you'd have to have secondary heroes running around collecting it. Also, it doesn't make much sense to me. I'd prefer to make Windmills, Watermills etc. flaggable like in Heroes IV - again, that'd reduce the tedious micromanagement.

Quote:
Week of the builders: Players can build 3 additional buildings per week.

Interesting ... but how would that work. On any specifik day? One could also offer a resource discount on buildings - but that'd be rather powerfull in some circumstances.

Quote:
Varying size of the battlefield: For example, when you visit the crypt building, why would you expect to fight on a large battlefield?

Those blessed and cursed surfaces returning.

Yes, there could be more variation on battlefield types and sizes.

Quote:
That building which gives you +1 to all primary skills when visited.

Hmmm ... that was the library of enlightment - and actually, it was +2 to all skills. It always seemed somewhat overpowered to me. But one could increase building - thus, currently there is +1 to one of either 4 skills, or +2 to attack or defence. One could add +2 to either Spellpower or Knowledge, and also +1 attack AND defence and +1 spellpower AND knowledge.

Hostile area will make the game more like an RPG, and I am not sure many fans will want that... you can have monsters with stealth skill like bandits in HOMM IV, that would be good!
Neutral heroes is a good idea. They would add to the game for sure...
Spawning resources... as Alcibiades said, that would make the micromanegment harder, and we do not want that.
More battlefield sizes is a thing that is always welcome, so are terrains with special effects.
Weak of the builders seems overpowered. You get almost another 50% to your construction! that is too much! I agree with Alcibiades about making it a week of building disscounts, as that keeps the idea alive but with reasonable results as for balancing. I suggest 25% disscount on all buildings.

Ditto on those town ideas. I can really see a Fortress return working with the HoMM5 graphics and system, plus we need a snow-based race too. You should try coming up with some line-ups, see if you can create some original ideas.

Perhaps it would not be a bad idea if they put some magical terrain in the expansion (like those from heroes III and IV - cursed grounds etc.). I think that would add more variety and options in the game.
By the way, I created the "Perfect stonghold" thread where I want to gather all fan ideas about the orc town and make it together with all orc-lovers, so that everyone likes it. If we succeed, Nival would be a bunch of morons not to consider to put it in an expansion. Might work, don't you think?

My wishlist:
Random Map Generator
Map Editor
More spells
Creature creator
more heroes (return of classic ones)
Barbarian town
Naga/Swamp town
Dwarven town
Conflux town
More neutrals
caravans
And, finally, a storyline something like this:
The Ancients were amazed at the destruction of Erathia. However, many of the survivors fled to Axeoth. There, many wars were fought, but, finally, the Kreegans were defeated there by five heroes who used the remenants of Hexis's evil magic to wipe them out.

However, the Ancients soon turned their attention to other planets. One made them pay attention. The locals had a myth about "Dragons" creating this world and all of its inhabitants. There was also a large Kreegan presence near the planet, ruled by Kha-Beleth, known to be one of the Kreegans' most powerful and ruthless planetary demon forces commanders. These demons were created by a being named "Urgash", according to the locals. This, the Ancients thought, was none other than one of the strongest Kreegans ever, Urgash the Destroyer. Also, they found out that the other dragons were Ancients sent to protect the world from the Kreegans. The Ancients decided to intervene, and sent a servant, a machine, of sorts, an elementalist, to destroy the Kreegans. Unfortunatley, he has do destroy the planet to do it...

Very nice mvassilev!
The wish list pretty much concentrates what most of the fans want to see in the game, and your connection of the old and new story lines is interesting, and most importantly, logical. Suggest it to Nival
maybe we will all get lucky, and the'll consider it...
And by the way, cool signature

Options! More options!

If you add in a feature some people dont like, or take away one some do, they wont care if it's only optional. Things like dynamic battles, and ghost mode are cool but they need more. You can never fail with something that poeple don't have to use if they don't want to.

Some that come to mind off the top of my head:
Fog of war
1 hero per town limit
Army size limits
Hero lvl limits (non-campaign)
Neutral heros that take back mines

New Terrain?

I had an idea for a new terrain, sort of.  So we already have two different levels, the surface and the underground.  I think it might be interesting, I guess from a more aesthetic standpoint, to have some sort of terrain in the sky, whether it be clouds or floating chunks of land.  It could be just like the normal surface, but instead of having water around the land you would just see the land on the next level below it (obviously the surface would look distant, maybe with some clouds passing by or something).  Just a visual idea, I don't think it would affect game mechanics much except for the fact that there would be three levels instead of two.  Plus I think it would work really well with the Academy.

hmm, not sure about that idea, certainly not rocks in the sky, and clouds can't be walked on so...

Cloud layer like Civilisation 2 I think ...??? (Perhaps I'm thinking about something else)

Sandro is back?! I hope that this is correct, but as we can see from the bio, Sandro is, or was alive (in existance) in the world of Ashan!
By the way, did any of you, who played the campaigns, have come across any thing related to Sandro (or any other past heroes)?

Three of the heroes 3 heroes were mentioned in the campaigns...

Crag Hack
Sandro
Solmyr

Crag Hack in one of the cutscenes of the haven campaign, Sandro in lot of occasions in the necromancer campaign (and there is also the artifact Sandro's Cloak), and Solmyr in one cutscene at the academy campaign.

I like it.

Maybe treat it a bit like Ship at sea.. where you get on a Flying Ship, that enable to you move on the 3rd level, the sky.  You can also drop down and land back to ground any time.  Make troop deployment more strategic.

I think it would be too powerfull to allow people to drop out of the sky anywhere - that would be too much of an advantage too just sneak up on people without them being aware of it and then just pop out right besides their castle. But the idea itself holds merit, and it could be done with some sort of air-tunnel working as "sup-terrainian gate". And the Academy would obviously look great placed on a floating terrain.

Clouds terrain is a great idea. So is making a "sky portal" for a 3rd level that would be exactly like the underground level (in features, movement...) but will give different bonuses, have uniqe structures (like an Angel treasury for instance),resources, artifacts, towns, dwellings ect.
It will look different and will be a bit different, but esentualy, it will just be another level with portal acces to it.

In the expansion, there should be another type of hero for all the town, see necro, academy, dungeon don't have a might hero, and sylvan, haven and inferno don't have magic hero, there should be new set of skill for them as well.

big cool list

You should looking for Wog to heroes 3, this addon have cool features that makes our game very cool!

Features thats my dream
- 8 level units or 3 levels of upgrades (some units u can 'steal' from etherlords ;])
- towers in castles that can take experience and levels
- units can gain experience
- random generated maps
- new treasure chest (There are 3 possibilities:
- a trap (poison, weakness, slow, or disease for one battle) with two artifacts (one treasure one minor);
- a choice between gold or upgrading a creature stack (the first stack that would be worth the most to upgrade, but not more than 1.5 times the gold);
- a choice between resources (2 per 500 gold) or +1 to a primary skill (which skill based on gold amount, +2 to a random skill if more than 2000 gold).
The chests randomly have a base value of 1000/1500/2000 gold; 8% have 2500 gold and 2% have 3000 gold (or a corresponding increase in resources - 4/6/8 normally, or 10-12 rarely).
)
- artifacts that together are better when we have them and wear them
- fishing wells
- option to convert maps from old Homms to the Homm 5
- option to have moving creatures on the map
- possibility to add our avatar/photo as a portrait of hero
- emissary of god
- option to destroy city (and skill building)
- add sphinx
- option "'Creature Dwellings accumulate creatures'" and 'Creature Dwellings accumulate guards'
- leaving army and artifacts on map- emissary of god

And more:
- support for mods, and u should for community public SDK, it will be cool when we have completely new games, total conversions, new mods, monsters etc.
- possibility to create scripts/mutators that change small thins aka Wake of Gods
- advanced editor not only for maps but for cutscenes, editing all things in the world of game (new creatures, battlefields etc.)
