First Time playing HoMM...

I will always remember my first time. I was with my big brother. We were   visting my brothers friend. He said that he has a new game called Heroes of Might and Magic III, he looked really excited. But I didn`t understand why. Then he wanted us to play with him HoMM III. and I will always remember The feeling I got when saw the minotaurs and black dragons. That day was one of the best day ever I have had.

So that was my story. What is your first time playing HoMM? Tell me about it, if you want.

The music in the Faerie town in Heroes II.   And the cute animations throughout the game.  Just magical.

How easily pleased we were in those days.

I think that the biggest things that I remember are

1. The wonderful clanking sound and great big swing of the gold paladin - brilliant

2. I remember the phoenix attack as well because I was absolutely awful at aiming it properly and kept hitting my units or missing the units behind. (Pretty sad but true)Still liked it though.

Its been so long since I played but I am pretty sure both are from Heroes II. Don't much remember Heroes I for some reason maybe I was too young.

Of course if they brought that out now we would all complain that the game was too simple. Nostalgia is a wonderful thing.

I had a friend bore me to death with info on HoMM3 (before I'd even played it), although I never actually registered the name of it. Then I played it at someone else's and really loved the variety of units and castles, plus the hotseat mode (makes multiplayer easy without the need for LAN etc). Hence I miss the 8 / 9 castles of H3, and am looking forward to any new towns in the expansions (discuss in the Altar of Wishes forum!).

Oh yes. I think I have killed someone wgen I was talking about HoMM3 When I was about 10 I knew all the creatures of HoMM3, and almost all heroes. When I told to my cousins (they are 10 years older than me and do not get it) about HoMM3, they pulled my underpants up high

I would like to hear from those, whose first HoMM experience is HoMM V. And how did they heard about it, and are they going to play the other ones, like HoMM II.

Hear hear! It would be interesting to see what someone new to the series thinks of the game, and how they react when they then go and play H3 / H2.

My first time watching someone play Heros was Heroes 1 I think. If I remember right he had a lot of something that could either have been a phoenix or a rock (a bird of some sort) My first time playing was with Heroes II and I played that one to death.

Can`t remember my first time
But I can tell the story where I sat down to play a map on HoMM 3 some years ago at 10 a.m. I just remember my mother coming in my room and looking confused at me asked if was at home the whole day. I looked at the watch it was actually 11p.m. and I hadn`t moved from the chair the whole time. So make your conclusions!

The first time I played any heroes game was in 1996/97 when I first installed and played homm2 demo.
I loved the game, and I will always remember it.
I remember I used to put the 5 black dragons cheat on.
Out of surprise my dad came and bought homm2 for me.
I was surprised and very happy.
I plaed it quite alot.
I made a couple of good maps, and then maybe when I was in year 4 or something, I remember looking under my dads bed and finding a computer game box.
I picked it up, and found that it was heroes millenium edition.
I was happy, and btw nobody was home.
I plaed it, but when my dad came home he was angry because it was supposed to be a surprise for me for christmas or something like that.
I played homm3 alot and I still do play it.
A couple of months ago, I got the Heroes Complete, and then maybe a couple of weeks ago, or about 2 months ago or something, I got WoG 3.58f mod.
I still play homm2 and homm3 WoG now aswell, as they are both really good games.
I love the barbarian town music within homm2 and I think that is the best music from any of the heroes games in my opinion.

Yeah, I was about 28 when I played my first HOMM-I game back in the mid-90s!

I had a friend who kept blabbing about how great HOMM-I was... it actually took me nearly a year after it released before I sat down and played it... then I was hooked.

Bought every Heroes game after that... only regretted wasting my time with H4.

I don`t think H4 was waste of time. It was pretty cool first and then it became boring, but not waste of time. My big brother plays it a lot, and sometimes I play with him.

My first heroes experiance was a heroes 3 demo. I remember having to hunt through Almost every game shop in my area, to find the sole copy of heroes 3. This was before I found the internet. back when games came in big boxes. Then I found a heroes 1/ heroes 2 combo, in a even bigger box.
