I competely agree with TheDeath. The Necro town is now FORCED to recruit high lvl creatures, or prevent low lvls from dying to make it worthwhile. Or, You could give Zombies an improvement, and Necro would have a well-balanced town, just like in H3.

Lets get the zombies as a tier 7!! We could make: Zombie LORDS!! (or something) Then just make them like Hydras in HoMM3 , Slow but hard hitting ... And give them Decay on each hit! Muhahah Giant zombies running around killing everything...

Well, why cant you just raise their stats a inch higher?

Yeah, h3 necro was well balanced, and that's why it was banned in most tournaments :X

What?  Zombies are pretty solid.  Sure they have low initiative but their special is much better than the horned demon and the gargoyle and they are very durable.

Especially good now that you can raise huge numbers of them.

Agreed. Plague Zombies bring a huge load of HP. They therefore provide perfect target for MotN. And thanks to Necromancy, their damage in the early stages is good. I actually wouldn't trade them as a Necromancer for Gargoyles, even though they are overall better.

They do their part perfectly. Horned Demons are trickier, because
a)they don't have enough HP to be a good tank (you don't really need one for inferno, but still)
b) They are too slow to be a damage dealer, even though their damage is not that bad
c) they are too slow for effective use of Inferno specialty Gating (unlike Zombies, who gain directly from Necromancy)

Except later on you don't have the luxury to deal with them with the other killers a demonlord has and with their speed it's easy to land a good hit. And considering the attack bonus they will have it is terrifying.

You are quite right. They actually can become a force to reckon... But I rarely get them in numbers, because I tend to sacrifice big part of them when I creep (shooters and the like)

But then again, I am not that good an Inferno player...

Btw. since this thread is resurrected anyway, I think we can celebrate that the new Disease Zombie very much meats the calls for changes that were expressed in this thread.

I'm not familiar with Ubi/Nival's receptiveness to player input.  Does this mean they listen a lot to players?  Because judging by history it seems that way to me...

Pros of listening:
-caravans
-lots of balance patches
-incorporating beta textures which wound up as alternates
-first dwarves, now orcs are back
-new Nec dark energy system
-rot zombies

Cons:
-god I hope they didn't axe Elemental Chaining because of vocal 'tard players.
