Heroes V CCG is out
Heroes V showed up at my local game store. I have not picked it up yet. Anyone else seen it? The starter says the map tiles are larger and that they can be used for Heroes IV. I may buy it just for the maps.

What is the name of the store? Remember?
I'll go and check out that claim also.

Can anyone confirm this information?
I also may buy it just for the tiles!

I bought both starters, hexes are MUCH larger. Their are also more monster tiers, it uses d10 instead of d6, and Skills don't flip for covering level advancement like in HOMMIV but I think can still work together just haven't played against anyone yet

Hi kaip!
Because of language difficulties (my native language is German) I can't understand some of the things you say:
Quote: I bought both starters, hexes are MUCH larger.
OK Hexes are much larger - no problem understanding this part!
Quote: Their are also more monster tiers
What is a "monster tier"? Do you mean the levels of mosters? (H4 - level 1-4; H5 - level 1-7?)
Quote: it uses d10 instead of d6
I have no idea what you mean with this. I suppose it's some RPG specific vokabulary?
Quote: Skills don't flip for covering level advancement like in HOMMIV
I have a idea: Do you mean that in H4CTG you flip the card when growing in level from e.g. Basic to Advanced Chaos Magic and in H5CTG there are two cards for comparable action?
My question was less in the direction if you can play both - H4CTG and H5CTG - together. I just wanted to know if you can use the map tiles of H5CTG for playing H4CTG? Not the cards or something - just the map tiles.
I have some more questions to you:
Do the map tiles of H5CTG have a better quality than the ones from H4CTG? I like H4CTG but a really big disappointment is the quality of the map tiles.
How many map tiles are in one H5CTG Starter?
Do you know how many maptiles exist in total for H5CTG? (There are 28 different map tiles for H4CTG I think - 4 different "mixes" with 7 tiles each, a Starter contains one of those "mixes".)
That's all for now.
Greetings

Yes good quality. They are not warped like HOMMIV. About 4 times the size but only half as spaces. Because the pieces are bigger they don't have that bend. They use a ten sided die instead of a six sided

I got 4 map tiles in my box but only opened one starter (and a bunch of boosters) so I don't know how many different types they have.

Thanx for your answers!
Do you think you can use the tiles of H5CTG for H4CTG?
BTW: Do you want to trade cards from H4CTG? You seem to be the only person at the moment in this forum (beside me...)
If yes please see this Thread:
