It isn't recent but it's still baffling.

I'm honestly having a helluva time maintaining my intense dislike for the cat.

*sigh*  There goes another one.

I like how Consis totally ignored the question in this thread.

Edit: And I like how I totally just realized that TA posted the exact same thing already.

Eh . . .

Quote:
The sarcasm, the pronounced frustration and contempt frustration {} with the community... I can not put my thoughts into words here. What is it? What is the change, is this some kind of midHClife crisis? Are you losing hope? Are you losing your mind? Or are you evolving into that which you thought you would never be? Is it a case of, if you can't beat 'em - join 'em?

Lose Hope - Yes

You're right. My posting style has changed. People don't ever laugh at my posts. Why should they? I'm always trying to be too serious. My father is very sick. He may die soon. Something like that changes a man on the inside. Do you understand? I feel that I can't take life too seriously anymore. I go to the grocery store, I go to church, I go to the bus-stop to pick up the children . . . and . . . I simply begin to cry, not having said a word. Sadness seems to be controling my life lately. Life is life; better to laugh in good memories than cry for what might have been.

{btw I also noticed you haven't reserved that avi of yours - coincidental I didn't go looking  what does this mean?}

I can't. Rule: Only one reservation per member.

I understand exactly what you mean. I recently went through the same thing with my father. I went 8-9 months without posting at HC. Every now and then I would start to write a post, then stop. It just seemed so trivial compared to what was happening in RL. The only thing I thought was worth talking about, I couldn't bring myself to talk about, couldn't put it into words.

Yes, it changed me. You talk about crying. I never cried so much in my life. It's like my "macho" shield broke, and all the emotions came tumbling out. As you say, it can change a man. It changed me into a more emotional being, one who never wanted anyone else to go though what my family and I did. And after almost 2 years, I'm still not sure who this "me" is that I once thought I knew so well.

It's not just that Dad died, it's HOW he died and what he went through, and what we went through. (details omitted)

I guess I still can't get the words right. But hey, send me an IM if you want.

Thanks for posting consis  I was worried about you {honestly}.

I kind of know what you mean, I watched my father in law die a couple of years ago.  After a long battle, and then my mother inlaw the following year.  It is something that no one can explain.  I think we do take life for granted sometimes alot.

It makes you reassess the meaning of life... still trying to figure that one out - one day at a time

I hope you keep posting here.  I do like reading your posts, whether they are serious ones or not
