I'm going to do a HoMM site, so I need you to give me some ideas.
You should know that I'm not a proffesional Web-master, so don't give me some hard-to-do-for-a-pro ideas.

O.K.
I can do that, so give me some ideas for that. I'll go with the Heroes 4, but what should I put in there ? I need something original, attractive.
I can say you what I know: Flash, CGI, HTML, CSS(ask if you need explanation ).
You can also say me that I shouldn't do the site, but at least say something .

...hmm, I'de suggest not trying to make it too fancy, unless you really know what you're doing...stick to html and some cgi...perhaps a bit of flash on your homepage, if you like...

I suggest putting some maps for the classic (HoMM1 and 2) on your site. Otherwise, I'll never visit it.

I would love to put some maps on my site, but I need some maps for that. Maybe I should go to the Library and ask from the mapmakers there to E-mail some of their best to me?

I wanna do a poll on my site (doesn't everyone do?), but I ain't sure what to do: I can go on something usual, like "Do you want golem dragons in HoMM IV?", or something original, but there is the the big "WHAT?" again coming.
I'm not a good designer, I can do the thing the visitors don't see. I can ask my frind to help me(but that's really my problems).

O.K. Here's the thing, I've decided what'll be on my site:
1) Poll, which will change (sometimes).
2) HoMM IV portal, I've decided, that if I ain't got any exclusive material or stuff, I'll do a flash portal to all of the best about HoMM IV, I'll separate it to sections, and I need you to tell me the best sourses about HoMM IV (give me an URL of the page with the material, and tell me what kind of stuff is on the URL.
3) After asking Val's permission I've desided to do an unofficial HC FAQ.
4) And, I'm going to put some maps and campaings there.
What do you think about it ?

I already have some members that will give me their maps.
But I'm ggoing to do something like HoMM 4 portal, so I need list of sites with what kind of things are found there.

About that Nickman's idea about the poll's subject: you forgot one add-on. Yes, the one for HoMM2. I'm not shure what was it called at the moment, but if you mak a poll containing the addons for HoMM3, the addon for HoMM2 should also be present.

There should be individual sites for every HoMM2 town as there always is for the HoMM2+ towns. With screenshots of the towns. No other HoMM2 site got that ...

I like this ideas(sorry, compliment!) I'm not sure if I can add anything.......I'm trying to make my own page, but don't hope to see that until (if I'm extremely lucky) Christmas. I really have no knowledge of how to launch a web site. If you can tell me what server you use when you launch yours, that would help. Then again, I'm not even sure I know what I'm talking about. What is a server?

Xenoplanes: I'm going to put my site on a free web-hosting service, free prohosting, but I'm doing that 'cause they give custom CGI-scripts. Bassicaly, if you don't need taht I've heard about a lot of free hosting servises, and they all have instructions on building, and posting your site!
BTW I'm not against compliments, but I need something to go with them.
Also, I'm doing a HoMM 4 portal, and some map space.
